What was the first album you bought on your own; when you made the decisions about the music you listened to. Not the first Raffi tape your parents bought you.
My first tape
Guns and Roses - Appetite for Destruction (it was still a new release then)
with a $75 gift card for media play from my aunt i purchased - nirvana - incesticide, weezer - blue album, Green day - dookie, Bush - sixteen stone, smashing pumpkins - melon collie and the infinate sadness.
its funny how i’ve listened to the blue album for 10+ years now, and the older i grow, the album takes on a whole new meaning. i didnt like only in dreams when i was younger, and listened to buddy holly and the sweater song nonstop. now i usually skip over buddy holly and the sweater song. blue album and pinkerton = on my top ten favorite albums.
first album i remember purchasing for myself would be foo fighters-self titled, their first album after that douchebag killed himself and stopped toruturing us with “grunge” god i fuckin hate nirvana
everything b4 that album was bought for me by family members or “taped” off the radio
the blue album is great. I think i bought it when i was in like 7th or 8th grade mayb. I had no idea that it was like 6 years old when i bought it lol. i think thats actually the CD thats in my car right now haha. its timeless.
