Didn’t someone on here at one time have the link to the Mastercard/Visa thing where it stated in their users agreement for companies that accept their cards are not allowed to ask for ID?
The Zip I can completely understand; but I thought it was “Against the rules” for some reason for them to ask for ID.
even if i write see id on there most clerks dont look at the back of the card, ive already had to replace my card 2wice cause of stolen information which i never noticed happening cause i have both cards that i had to replace =(
hm. i heard and read somewhere that it’s actually illegal for the store clerk to ask for ID? I know this sounds strange, however, I am sure that I heard about this somewhere…
Consequently it’s also not legal for you to put “See ID” behind your credit card…
Anyway, I don’t have reference about it.
I am 99% sure that they can ask you for a drivers license, they just do not have the right to store the information. For example, if they asked you to write your phone number on the receipt and home address, that is illegal but if they just looked at it, that is fine as far as I know.
Credit cards suck, and the god damn pakis are the worse.
Iwas in the south and I had a AAA travelors card.
Because it said AAA on the front and had my signature on the back, this paki at the hotel wouldnt take it. I chewed him a new one.
Since then I vow to never carry plastic, and only carry the money Im about to spend when I go out.
back when I use to work at a fast food joint the dumb girls at the window would accept any credit card. I specifically remember one time when they accepted one that had been cut in half and then taped back together…probably taken out of someone’s trash.
