Unfortunately water wouldn’t cut it… It would have to be something with a lower freezing point.
And to get it in a position where it could heat the surface of the wing, I would imagine that would compromise structural integrity?

they do have heating/de-icing devices implemented. you think you are the first person that this might have occurred to? really?
this is a car forum
they do but it is more like a balloon that expands and contracts to break up the ice.
and engine bleed air to heat leading edges… electric heaters…
Anti icing IS HUGE! there are a million ways to do it.
:picard:
yeah seriously, if they didnt have de-icing and ice regularly formed on the wings of planes, it would change their shape and they simply wouldn’t fly.
I was less than 5 miles away and I didn’t feel anything. If I hadn’t gone into work 15 minutes early I might have seen/heard it.
RIP. This is very sad.
they already do have methods of deicing for in-flight. im just not sure what the methods actually are.
they fly… bleed air valves get stuck closed. and anti icing fails
Which is exactly why your insight was not useful/helpful/worth the time involved in reading it…
OMG we raised our floor temp inside our house by a few degrees…why don’t they use the same technology on air planes :bloated:
I would imagine with the large number of flights occurring daily during the winter months deicing must be working pretty effectively or they would be having crashes like this on a daily basis.
this just in “the plane was attempting to land on the familys treadmill”
TOO SOON, BUT +KARMA
Listened to the air traffic audio. Gave me the chills
lol
I had to
SRY … really yes it is a bad thing that went down …
does anyone know about this “marker” that they talk about … i guess i dont understand how the red lights and shit work on the ground for planes
My friend is taking my fiance and I flying in 3 weeks, there is NO way my fiance will be up for it now. She was worried before this.
I’m going straight to hell, but that got a chuckle out of me.
That said, I do feel bad for anyone involved in any way.
company asked to have it removed.
does anyone work for “the blues” here?? PM me i wana know what they are doing about this
