Flocking thread. Lets flock!

so after seeing a couple posts on Zilvia, I decided to flock up my interior door panels as well as rears.

The kind I bought was called DonJer. Got some shipped up from their spot in Winnebago, IL. I bought the Nylon Suede-Tex Fibers because they’re apparently “durable, water and fade resistant”. I have high hopes that it will turn out looking real nice.

When it dries and I knock off the excess, it should look and feel much like suede.

that looks very strange, im interested to see how it turns out.

i hope it turns out good for you.

I was thinking of doing this to my cut up s13 dash (weight loss its 8lbs, i can propably cut down to like 4lbs or something will see)… Cut it up further and remove the foam/vynl… and then perfect surface and flock. Properly flocked dashes look awesome. Just have to make sure the surface is prepped/smooth perfectly otherwise imperfections will show through.

they did it on uniquewhips looks nice in person a whole panel looks a bit much but it should look good.

yeah I agree. It’s hard to tell but I only flocked the middle insert part. All the rest is excess that will come off.

Those dashes posted look pretty nice aswell. hah

yeah when i saw it on tv it turned out pretty good just make sure it fully drys so it doesnt come off on the guled parts

yup, 72 hour wait time.

looks as gay as it sounds.

^ Good thing he’s not doing your car then eh?..

I like this, it’s a nice solution to my problem, I was going to attempt a wrap on my dash to get the same effect, I wasn’t even considering flocking it. Thanks man! Can’t wait to see your finished product.

interested in the results too…

Results are in and I must say I am very pleased. Only thing I would watch for when doing the door panels is make sure you put enough adhesive in the cracks around the middle to allow the fibers to stick.

how strong is it?

like if you brush against it with a sweater on or something like that, would it all just scrape off?

That looks fresh.

nice one!

how soft is it?

does it feel close to alcantara?

it’s quite strong and doesn’t rub off by just touching/rubbing it. It appears to be quite durable. As for softness, it’s not quite as soft as real suede but it looks and almost feels like it. Once I do my front panels and get it all back in the car I’ll be sure to update with how it all looks.

i cant flocking wait for more updates.

Damn, looks good man. I’m interested to see how long it holds up on the door panels since their pretty high-wear.

this shit looks mint man how much was it?
thats a wicked and easy looking Visual mod

Do my 180?
