For those with Valentine 1's...

Micro version of the concealed box.
I never bought the concealed box cuz it was very large still, however I would so buy this if I bought a V1 again.

Also with a mute button/mode button to mount anywhere, very pimp!!

Anybody on the board have a modified box like this one?

His pictures are dead though. Maybe he can fix the broken links.

WTF, I suck so bad at searching. Seriously.

I searched proly 5 minutes, I must be mentally retarded

Oh, edit. You weren’t posting it as a repost.

Me > Pwned

motorcycle guys will love this

I <3 V1, but I like mine where it is, I see no need for the concealed display.

Never considered the concealed display, no need for it.

Personally, I like the rear-view mirror version; I’ve seen that done with other things and once I saw Josh’s I figured I was right about wanting it there. It’s just one of many projects for the Bird as it gets resurected.

all he did was take it out of teh box and relocate the RJ connector…
it seems like very little work.

the hardest part would be ‘potting’ (epoxying) it so that it does not make a mess.

customizing electronics stuff like this normally isn’t that hard… just soldering, wiring, and custom packaging stuff…

what does the pricing on that run compared to the regular radar unit?

The regular is 40 I believe.

Bingo, its not hard to disassemble it. I took mine apart and mounted in my dash.

It’s very easy to “modify” the display as shown in the eBay link.

I’ll get these pictures all re-hosted today. However, i’m currently working on a revised setup that i’m hoping to have complete by the weekend…so my setup will end up being different.

with such slick mounting locations, such as behind the steering wheel / on the gage cluster, it’s got to be impossible to hit the mute button. … … and if you have POP you are hitting the mute button every 4 seconds. :ham:

OR you could just turn the secondary volume down so after the first instance the sound automatically goes down

Use the Big L aka advance logic like I do and it rarely go’s off unless you are near an actual radar gun, or a pharmacy lol.

Mashing buttons works on so many levels.
