Yeah, jackoff I know slicks are against the spirit. Maybe you can’t read. The point of FLD was that they were local venues that you DROVE to and ran in street trim without having to tech and meet all NHRA/IHRA rules. Now FLD no longer seems to be local, there’s a mention of following NHRA rules on the FLD site, and on the site of the tracks they’re using. Also on the FLD site was the statement that they would be releasing more detailed information at World of Wheels (which they didn’t) and some rumors from here - along with an email address that they never ever respond to. So a bunch of us are trying to figure out of FLD’s are still, well, FLD and not just low end test and tune nights at a track further away that you still have to follow NHRA rules for. Maybe - just MAYBE you ought to think that some of us have hours of driving to get there and want to know how it’s going to be run before we make that trip?
If that’s true it woudl be nice, though probably still too far away to drive and not trailer, and I don’t want to piss off other FLD guys by trailering in when you’re not supposed to. We need to know exactly what kind of deal FLD made with them. At other tracks even if they’re rented, insurance requires that the leasing party follow the same safety rules. So, 13.49 or faster in a vert or 11.49 requires 6 point roll bar and 10.99 requires a full cage. We need to understand what they’re going to enforce and what they’re not. Hate to go all that distance and get kicked off the track for being too fast.
