Nope, due to cyclic forces and the physics that happen inside a cylinder. Also due to more collective oil file at the bottom of the cylinder. If that was the case, boxer motors would never survive yet they’re one of the most durable engines around. I’ve rebuilt Porsche engines with over 150K miles on them and in some cases reused the pistons and cylinders as they had virtual zero wear :slight_smile:
