Found a gold mine

Even though I knew it was there! I was a little bored today and just going through a few things. I stumbled across my football and baseball cards. I knew I had a lot but never knew I had so many almost complete sets or cards of players that used to be garbage and now are pretty damn good. I got most of the late 80’s and early 90’s baseball sets of Donruss, Topps, Upper Deck and Fleer. I also came across my collection of over 450 Nolan Ryan cards! Then I found a few football cards that i am sure will be worth a little money. I found a Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Dan Marino, John Elway, TERRY BRADSHAW, and numerous other ROOKIE cards. I guess I am gonna try to sort them out and put them in the computer and try to price them.

Just wondering, how many people still got these things around? I haven’t looked at a Beckett price guide since the mid 90’s. Guess I gotta go buy a few!

i do have a mint (never opend) tops '91 set… doubt it worth anything either.

the bottom fell out of the tradding card market about 3 years after it exploded/upperdeck came on the scene. cards really aren’t worth shit like they used to be.

Yeah that is what I was told by someone earler. My collection in 1994 was worth close to $12,000, wondering what it is like now. I have since bought a few others and got some older ones through my grandfather. I am probably gonna look them all up within the next month or so and THINK about selling them. If it is still worth close to that, I am sure I could sell them and pay off the car, buy my roll bar, get a 12 bolt with 3.73’s, and do heads and cam! Unsure at this point what I would do.

i used to be really big into hockey cards. I have a shitload of Jagr rookie cards.

I have a second year Wayne Gretzky car that used to be worth $175 looked it up about 3 months ago and its worth a whopping 15 dollars :wackit:

I have a bunch of shit including a signed kevin steves card from like 90. Its that stuff that I used to collect when I was young but never got rid of.

I have a few packs of the beavis and butthead cards and i have dinosaurs attack… haha great cards!

i do have real cards though… micky mantle homerun card, and others from back then… i think i have 8 that were worth like $4500 about 10 years ago.

I have a shit load of cards from the late 80/early 90s when my dad and I collected them (it was a daily ritual for me to walk to the store and buy us each a pack of cards). We both have complete sets of different brands and a shit load of extras. In the early/mid 90s I switched from sports cards to comic books and thats where my money is. I also collected the cards associated with comic book characters. Thanks for reminding me, I think I will sell that shit to get it out of my house and pay some bills!
