Thanks to Scott at Can-Alignment! I cannot say enough about his creativity, professionalism and ability to take a challenging project from start to finish. What a great shop!
Check out full details at SON.

Nice! There was only 1 other person on here that did an NX SR20 swap that I know of. I can’t remember what it ran either since it was several years ago.

Thanks. I’m having to sort through some vacuum issues - boost isn’t their yet. But I’m looking forward to when the GTi-R motor really shows it’s true colours!

Do you know what your NX weights?

2610 - full interior, full fluids, track ready (i.e., no extras inside).
Car was just weighed and corner-balanced. The GTi-R is rated at 227 crank HP, so closing in on 1 HP for every 10 pounds.

I take it you’re using this for road course then?

Yes, it will be running in Ontario Time Attack.

Cool project!

very cool, if you ever need tuning check out www.nismotronic.com

Thanks Saxon. That’s a new site for me.
I’m sticking with OEM setup this year, including the OEM ECU. I’ll likely use my good friend Sasha at SG-Motorsport when I’m ready for tuning but it’s always good to know the options.

you can still turn the boost up to 12-13psi with a stock set up. I went 13.9 with my 240 and all I had was an intercooler/exhaust/fuel pump. one wheel peel too!!

and if you are doing road racing I would get a solid strut bar…

Some of the UBRF oldtimers will remember this car from Toronto Motorsports Park. It’s been on road courses for a long time. It’s had an upgraded suspension for almost ten years. Ground Control CoilOvers, Eibach Springs (400 lb F and 300 lb R) with KYB AGX shocks. Shocks and springs were replaced last year with the same - old school but predictable and performs very well. ES HyperFlex suspension bushing kit, Prothane motormounts, Shigspeed’s Rear pillowball mounts, Active Tuning RSTB, Whiteline FSTB, Progress Rear Sway Bar, Can-Alignment 4 point LCA brace (whiteline won’t fit and available for sale, used), Whiteline Castor bushings, Ground Control Camber Plates, Autopower 4 point rollbar, battery relocated to behind the passenger seat to name a few enhancements. Brakes have been upgraded to AD22VF with Carbotech XP10 or XP12 front, NX2000 rear disc brakes with Carbotech XP8, Corbeau 5 point harnesses, Kirkey intermediate racing seats, and a DefNder neck restraint. Wheels are Enkei Racing RPF1 15x7//Team Dynamics 15x7 and this year will be Toyo 225 50 15s. It also has a B&M shifter. Right now it has a 240sx steering wheel but I’ll likely replace that with a GTi-R steering wheel I have in my storage shed, my other bling items are 350Z horns, Nismo Rad and Oil Cap, 350Z pedals, and a NX2000 leather shift boot.
It’s a very nice handling car. When I install the Walbro 255 fuel pump to finish off the swap, it’ll have power also.

Here you get a good view of the Bully Stage 4 clutch going in. Also the factory turbo. The GTi-R engine is beefier than any other SR engine made, as it was Nissan’s attempt to enter the WRC back in the early 90’s. The project is done! 400 kilometres have been put on the car (about 300 miles) and I’m smiling. The only significant issue is that the rad fan isn’t automatically kicking in (so I’ve currently wired it to run all the time); it appears that the GA16 ecu powered the fan while the GTi-R ran a different setup. This one is easy to sort out.
