I couldn’t remember details on the Nikasil problem so I went and did a little research. The Nikasil lining was on E34 540i’s 93-95, so you’re fine, beat the piss out of it. Also you need gold rims.
Nice, I was planning on whipping it pretty good anyhow. I’m not so sure about gold, but M5 Parallels may be a good choice.
what motor is that
i can’t tell it’s green from the pics

Looks nice…what kind of numbers do those run stock? I’d imagine with a BMW 6-speed and V8 it’s got to be fairly quick?
you never provided the C.I and i’m lazy to google bmw motors and just guessing.
is that the 5 liter motor? the numbers seem healthy for older car.obviously i don’t know beemers.
It’s 4.4L, I’m not sure what that is in CI, the M5s have the 4.9, almost 5 liter, but those are 400hp.
They run mid 14s stock. I’ve seen a few guys on the boards with minor mods breaking into the 13s. A regear and a Dinan flash seem to do the trick.
:hsugh:
Damn, I always thought those were faster than that. Still a nice driver though I’m sure.
It’s a porky 4 door, but it still moves pretty well.
**let me be more clear too, the M5s run 13s stock, and a sub 5sec 0-60 despite the roughly 3800lb curb weight. The 540s run 14s with a similar weight.
The E60 M5’s are 5.0L V10 - 500 HP. I still have a soft spot for E39 M5’s though.
I hate everything about E60s, the look, the way they drive, the sound of the V10 (flame me all you want) and the $100k+ price tag. E39s are cool, though they are known to have a boat load of trouble. I personally wouldn’t own one w/o a warranty but that’s just me. FWIW I drove the M5 in today, and I love it every time I get behind the wheel.

Yeah… Kolar is defiantly an uptight “e-thug” :hahano:
Seems like you know everyone on here pretty good…
xlogic the darkest white man i ever met
I’m thinking this will be the end of my time with this car…
I just put a new rad in the day before I left Oklahoma. That car was so nice over the road. The rental Chevy HHR was a rolling turd.
The driver of the 2009 Toyota Avalon that hit me has a broken sternum.
The unibody area that holds the battery was jammed up against the RR tire. The stickshift which normally sticks straight up in neutral was tilted to the left a bit, and the glovebox hinges were broken. The radio also popped out of its spot in the dash on the impact. The spare tire well was nearly flat…but kind of pushed way forward too. As the pic shows, the RR door was pretty well jacked.
All in all, I’m pretty much just glad I saw her coming and took “crash position” for the impact. I was facing straight forward and had my body against the seat. Knowing how jacked I feel right now, I can’t imagine how I would be feeling if I was turned sideways at the time.
wow that sucks
glad you are ok though
+1
How did that happen?
crash position is for sober folks
I don’t know how. I mean, everyone else slowed down, nobody else collided with any other cars around us. My best guess is that the other driver was just not paying attention at all, has horrible reflexes, or some combination.
I looked up at my mirror after I knew I was safe not to hit the cars in front of me (like I always do) but what I saw was different than normal. Not a car with the front end dipping and slowing down, but a projectile with no chance of stopping in time.
I still had about 15 hours of driving ahead of me after that ordeal. I’ll be honest, the next few times (in the POS HHR) when traffic jammed up and everyone slowed down…it was really unnerving. That impact has a way of making you more fearful of stuff that used to be really normal.
Why was anyone slowing down to be put in a hazardous situation on a damn highway???
Not your fault. You did whatever, had the 2+ second rule going assuming. The other driver did not. You win, They lose. Time for a Lsx
