storylines were very very close to that of varsity blues. the fact that this was based on the true story of the 1988 perriman panthers i think varsity blues was writin with this same story in mind. It was a good movie thou, i liked how there was no disney ending.

i think it was one of the better high school football movies ive seen. i liked how they took his alcoholic dad from a total asshole to someone just trying to help his kid out. but ya overall id reccomend it :bigok:
i just read that they’ve been tryin to make this movie since 1990 when the book came out. I bet that since it kept getting shot down is why varsity blues came out but with more appeal to the younger crowd. I’m gonna go look for the book tonight.
i read the book when i was a junior in HS! its a pretty good book!
i read thebook something like 4 or 5 times…i am going to go see the movie but do not want to be disapointed cause the bok was better
