It has new control arms and basically a whole new suspension. I also have another question, is there any way I can look online to see if there is any recalls on the car ?
Yeh they all do. All 8 control arms go bad constantly along with wheel bearings
Not so much- VC gaskets leak if they have 80k+ miles on the original set…not many serious issues if maintained. Ive had x2 30v 2.8 a4’s, really solid vehicles when cared for.
Just like anything, if you don’t replace/service when it’s necessary, it will add stress to another part of the vehicle which will then in turn break.
For the record, the 2.7tt and 2.8l engines are damn near identical and will have the same related issues (minus turbo stuff on the 2.8). All of the common leaks (valve cover gaskets, cam seals, cam plugs and timing chain tensioner gaskets) are shared between the two of them. 190l is not a scary number as long as it was cared for properly. I have an Audi with upwards of 300k on it and it runs perfect (not to mention is ~400awhp).
Is there any issues with the transmissions (auto)? I’m going to post pics of the car once I get it to my house
As far as the auto is concerned, I’ve seen some have problems and some not. Drive the car and see how it feels. With that many miles it’s hard to tell and really depends on how it was driven I’d say. My mom’s old A4 2.8 had 145k on the auto with no problems.
