yeah I have friends who were their for a year then home for a month then back for 6 months. one of nicoles friends has a boyfriend in the army. he is goin to school on the GI loan so he can learn arabic and go into special ops. I told him he can be an ambasator(sp) to one of those countries. his response was “if putting a bullet in terrorists heads is being an ambasator then that is what I want to do”.
another friend told me the media blows it way out of proportion. they make americans believe that iraq is the size of vermont when infact it is huge. 100’s die here everyday from our own people and when 20 die there everyone is up in arms about it

Here is somthing else to think about. FEMA did a disaster drill last year involving a situation just like this. Now here is the kicker, 1/3 of the people said they would DISOBEY a MANDATORY evacuation. Now how the fuck is that going to help any situation? They are even reporting this shit on the news saying WTF? If fucking people are going to be that stuborn, they have no right to bitch.
This and 9/11 were both logistical nightmares and when it happends you can only be so prepared. Getting stuff there is one of the biggest problems especially when you have an area covered by 80% water. Aircraft can only carry so many people or supplies at a time, Best bet for moving people is by ground and if its flooded you have a problem.

1: i think the federal government reacted too slowly to a storm they knew was coming.
2: i think the government of new orleans is mishandling this, but i really don’t know if they have the means to even attempt to control it.
3: i think we’re all a bunch of armchair quarterbacks, and while we have a right to have opinions, we have no idea what it must be like to be in the position of the looters, victims, president, or anyone else involved.
4: and while i hate George Bush, and damn near everything he does, i think partisanship needs to be put aside for the moment and we’ll analyze his performance after things are stabilized in the south… a few weeks can put things in perspective very easily.
Don’t need to take off, if my company says your going to, I’m going. Not to mention all the specialty teams that people I work with also belong to. They just sent around an application at work for training and such so they can put it in a poll incase they need more shit. One of the PA teams are already down there (Think team 1 can’t remember their designation). I went thought the same stuff for 9/11 (I was woring at the time for a deifferent company) and we were standing to go out to somerset. My current company sent multiple aircraft up there as well.

New Orleans is an awesome city with some cool people. Lot of great places to eat and great music to listen to. Every night is a party down there they shut the streets down.
