FS: 1988 GMC Sierra (PICS)

alrigt folks, the R/T is coming out, so my beloved winter ‘beast’ (as it is affectionately knows) has to go, so here it is:

1988 GMC Sierra 1500
-8’ bed
-305 V8
-5 speed
-4x4 (works great even though i only used it like 4 times this year)
-4" suspension lift kit

The GOOD:
-new battery
-whole rear end was rebuilt (bearings, axles, whole 9 yards)
-all new u-joints
-new brake lines
-4 new Goodyear Wrangler TD tires
-new exhaust system (equivilent to stock)
-CD player
-all fluids changed
this is all stuff that I have done since i goit it in october

the Bad:
-its got a wee bit of rust on it, but compared to most GM trucks of this age, it aint nothing!

  • the tailgate is a little iffy- as in i prob wouldnt stand on it if u r more than 200 lbs, but it closes and latches perfectly fine
-the key cylenders on the doors dont work if u put some PB Blaster in there, they might work, if not then $30 and an hour install from LMC Truck…im lazy and never did it
-the parking brake release cable is busted- as in u put the parking brake on, it aint coming off. prob an easy fix, again, im lazy…
-the odometer says 203,xxx but im sure that is way more than it really has because the previous owner had 37" tires on it. they come stock with like 29" tires so u do the math.

The ONCE WAS BAD BUT NOW FIXED:
-the power steering works again
-had the leak in the gas tank fixed (just was a seal)
-the back brakes just needed to be adjusted and they were

i’ve never taken this thing off road although im sure it would be fun to. it’s always started right up with no problems in thw itner even when it was like 2 degrees out, and the heater works damn good! this is the second one of these truks that i have had and any1 that knows about the 88-98 GM trucks will tell u that they will run FOREVER!!! i’ve seen them with over 300,000 miles on them and still going strong. I was actually gonna keep this thing for next year but it wont fit in my garage and i have nowhere to put it.

I paid $800 for it when i bought it and put close to $1800 into it (i have the recipts or every dime that went into this thing). I know im gonna be taking a loss on it, but im only asking $1000. i need to get rid of it ASAP because not only do i have nowhere to put it, but i am in despirate need of some funds. o yeah and the inspection is almost up, but u buy it and i’ll get it inspected b4 u take delivery i also have a few little things like putting the stock radio back in to fill the hole in the dash and putting the drivers side sun visor back on to do. just a coupple little thigns that i never bothered doing but i will do b4 i sell it.

BUMP!!

that truck is awsome. when i get back from texas and this thing is still availible i might just buy it depending on how much money i have left.

is that thing still on the road?
for testdrive puropses?

how is the clutch/tranny?

I got some cash sitting around from a recent sale, and I’m looking for an offroad toy that doesn’t need any work.

That stick shifter is begging to be replaced with a beer tap handle

I have just the thing for that.

y0 is this for sale. i need a truck in the next week or so i just fliped my escort and its time to go onto bigger and badder things.

no sorry man, Jack picked it up a coupple weeks ago.
