FS: 1991 BMW 318is *** SOLD ***

**** SOLD *****

Posting this for a co-worker.

5 speed, 99k, runs perfect. Sunroof, good tread on the tires. Just had a new alternator put in and had them do an oil change at the same time. He got engaged over Christmas and this is the fiance’s car. He just got her a new car so they really have no need for this or place to keep it. Never raced, adult owned. You know, the kind of lightly used car you try to find when looking at an older car like this.

The bad. Will need front pads/rotors. The shop pointed that out when he had the alternator done but he told them to leave it since he wasn’t sure if he would sell it or trade it in. The dash has a crack in front of the steering wheel. There is a scratch on the front driver’s side fender right near the headlight. You can see it in the picture. There is a small dent in the air damn, on the passengers side, also visible in the picture.

That’s it. What looks like dent/scratch in the passenger’s side picture is just dirt.

He wants $2000 FIRM. I know this is home of the lowball, but I’m telling you right now that for less than 2k this car just isn’t going to be sold.

His number is in the craigslist ad.

What model 325?

He’s going to look tonight when he gets home. It figures that when his woman took the pictures she neglected to get one of the rear.

Where’s MPD or ColdAccord? They could probably tell you just by looking at the interior/exterior shots.

Silly women.

I’ve driven by this car so many times.

THIS IS WHY I HATE SELLING STUFF FOR OTHER PEOPLE

It’s a 318is, not a 325.

dammit. two great BMW’s, both of which I’d be interested in show up right as I’m getting rid of my e30 for something with cargo space. bump for a super clean car.

Looks like an is with the 168hp 2.5.

damn good price, nice car, and this should sell within a couple of hours.

Ok, edit, but still a decent car for the money. Just don’t try to race…well, anything really.

a 1991 318is with a 2.5? unless it’s swapped, it should be 4cyl 1.8L/134hp.

better gas mileage…ugh. I really should unload mine and just get this, and suck the cargo space up again.

He was probably reading it while I had it originally posted as a 325 not 318. Co-worker said 325, when I asked what model he said he’d check tonight. When he was the interest in this thread he called the woman and told her to walk her ass out in the rain and see what it said on the trunk, at which point he found it out was a 318is, not a 325.

He says it’s fast, but he DD’s one of those new 4 door Wranglers. What I’ve read it’s not very fast but a whole lot of fun with the 5 speed since that 4 loves to be revved. He’s below blue book so I doubt he’ll have trouble selling this.

Exactly…I was just very lazy with the editing.

if i needed a winter car/dd i would be all over this. bump for your friend’s good deal.

if i was looking for a car i would jump on this, glws

That interior is super clean  GLWS.

fun cars. i used to have one, still miss it from time to time.

Me too. It’s been sitting there all summer… I get my e30 next month…Can’t wait!!

GLWS.

PM’s replied.

thats a good deal for someone who wants a clean base. or even a decently fun DD.

Yeah, that’s why I posted it. I might get a free lunch out of the deal if someone from NYSpeed buys it but that’s about it. Basically just wanted to share what I thought would be a good buy for an enthusiast. If you were looking to build a great little track day car this would be a perfect starting point.

Good luck with that… I sold a car for someone from NYSpeed a week ago, and i got lunch from teh Buyer - nothing from the seller. :eekdance:
