I have a 1991 Honda Civic hatchback. It is the STD model. It has a 4 speed manual transmission. No tach. I bought a passenger mirror, but havent installed it. I will include it for free. There is < 161,000 miles on it. It has had body work done. The rear wheel wells were fixed and the 1/4 panels were painted. It looks good from a distance, but when you are standing next to it, you can see the rust starting to come through again. So far what ive done to the car…
New windshield (diamond auto glass)
new battery (sears)
autozone cone air filter
the windshield leaked before it was replaced, and before i got the car it was sitting for a couple months. The water leaking in side the car just built up, and rusted some spots in the front floor boards. I had to weld in some 16 gauge steel, and sealed it with silicone, and painted it. It is very solid. There was no frame damage, so the only issue for me was that water would spray in the car if it was raining. I just want to be completely honest about the car, so you dont have any surprises once you get it home.
Due to the water and rust in the car the carpet was shot…so i got a new carpet, and seats from a 91 DX. The seats are cloth…which are way better than the vinyl ones found stock in the STD. The drivers seat is torn, the passenger and rear are in great shape. Id just grab a set of cheap seat covers. The only problem with the carpet is it was from an automatic, so there is a bit of a gap where the shifter console is. If you buy a shifter console it will be covered, but the STD just has the small rubber boot.
It also needs an alternator, the current one is seized. Im trying to get one locally for cheap, and install it before its sold. If i cant get one before you buy the car, i will take some money off for a used alternator and your time to install it.
It came with 13" steelies, but i put my HX wheels on. They will be included. You will need some front pads and rotors, which can be bought at autozone for a total of less than $40. I didnt get a chance to drive this car, except for up and down the street before i bought it, so i dont know if it will need anything else. Fuel lines and brake lines run inside the car, so you shouldnt have any problems with them.
I bought this car to use as a project / track car. But i blew up my motor in my 95 civic, and bought another car. Now, im just looking to get rid of it, as i dont really have time or money to work on it anymore. Basically, this is a solid clean car with a few cosmetic issues. If you can deal with them, this will be a great car. Or if you are looking for a car to drive for the winter, or a decent shell for a swap.
$1050 CASH. i need it gone ASAP. because we dont have any more room in our driveway. CASH, and a quick pick up will help alot. I bought this a month or 2 ago, so i never registered it. I have the title and bill of sale blank from the previous owner, so you just fill in the blanks, and its yours. No liens on the title.
ill try and get some more pics up tomorrow. im just looking to get what i have in to this car so far. so if you are seriously interested, make an offer.
heres some pics of the rear wheel well rust…
It has the stock fm/am radio, and 2 pioneer speakers. No a/c, no P/s, manual locks, manual windows.
Thanks.
