PM’d, What happened with the trans you bought?
I still have it but the mounting spots are broken on one side. Could be fixed if you know someone that can weld cast aluminum. If I sell the car without the tranny I am just going to take it back to where I got it from.
Kind of off topic but this is the second one I have seen recently with a bad tranny.
I have NEVER heard of these failing before this.
Anyone have any insight?
You are right, they never really go bad.
is the car drivable(assuming it has a bad leak ?) or is it completely toast
the trans is out
↑ How far are you from buffalo? Would probably need a flat bed to tow this correct, it being AWD and all?
yes you would want a flatbed or car trailer. the uhaul car trailers are really nice btw
BUMP.
I cant believe this isnt gone yet, Id pick it up but Im gonna wait and pick up somthing else in the spring :snky:
$50 bucks and you get a tandem axle trailer for a day. cant go wrong, thats how i always pick up my busted ass cars.
bump for a good seller
but when and if they do, they’re scrap…
$2500???
huh??
if the seal goes in the tranny, like yours did, the entire tranny is scrap and cannot be repaired
or at least thits what i think he ment
ahh ok… well yeah it would make sense to find a used one rather than get a rebuild
typically when a ZF box fails there is too much hard part damage making a junk yard find much more economically viable. it’s been a few weeks, are you going to fix this thing and sell it or what?
I got screwed on a tranny deal and lost a lot of time. I honestly just don’t feel like going through the process of getting another one. Project cars eat up a lot of my time. Most always more profitable though, just don’t have the time. I want to concentrate on selling my more expensive cars so I don’t have all my money tied up.
I pm’d you, Im trying to work out a way to get there this weekend if possible.
did you still want the car? haven’t heard back from you.
