FS: 2001 BMW "560i" Sport - LSx/T56 swap

would an lsa blower fit under the hood?

Probably. There is a lot of room under the middle bulge. Only one way to find out!

Took a deposit on the car last night, sale pending. If it falls through (doubtful) I will let everyone know.

sold this weekend, thanks everyone.

Congrats, all went well with the condenser fan?

yes, i ended up controlling it with the GM computer rather than the BMW logic, after all it’s just a fan that was looking for 12V

now what

short term, one of these

Longer term:

MUST haves:
RWD
manual trans
at least a 6 cyl or larger
2 door coupe/hatchback, i’ve never owned a “small” car before and would like to before I have kids
new enough to be reliable/comfortable/quiet (probably 2000+)

in silver or blue or red
@LZ1 wants me to come over to the dark side

i kind of always wanted one of these but after the power I just came from it may not do it for me

have loved these since they came out, but again I probably won’t love the power level. also, finding one that hasnt been beaten to death and had everyone’s sister’s cousin’s boyfriend “fix” is tougher each year

i should start one of those “what should i buy” threads

CTS V Coupe

C5 Z06

M3 will be underwhelming and not make the right noises until you are turning.

M5 would just be redundant

I vote for something unique LS swapped…944, RX7, 300zx, etc.

I still love the C5Z’s. Probably your best route.

C5 Z06 x2

e46m3 with a few mods is pretty close to e39 m5 acceleration, they are 500 lbs lighter. If you want v8 noises and the v8 again I vote c5 z06

C5 and put a turbo on it…

@steve2k1116 has a pretty clean example of an E46. Go slap a turbo on that

Seriously. Or VF Supercharger kit. $5k and you get every single nut and bolt including tune. Gets you to 400s whp. I really would hook Norb up too to sell it to a friend and good home. It’s just sitting in my garage haha

Thought this was an interesting find and at a decent price.

Thats not norbs car.

I know its not norbs car. Just thought i’d bump and dump that in here, for all the people that lowballed him.

That car has changed hands multiple times over the last couple years…seems like an okay build, but anytime a swap car keeps getting shuffled around, means someone doesn’t wanna deal with it. The fact that they won’t throw the AC switch in it to have functional AC is really alarming, I would guess that they can’t get it to work for whatever reason and want to dump it. By far the most common questions I got when talking with serious buyers was “Does the AC work” and “will it pass inspection”. this car seems to have issues on both of those fronts

I think the price is fair if maybe a bit high considering it’s a pre-facelift car with plain jane bumpers, tan interior, etc. I seem to recall that the last time it was for sale, they had the same pictures up…Obviously a lot of money dumped into the drivetrain but could be a headache getting AC to work and especially getting it inspected. offer 9500, fix the AC and little BS and have fun
