I guarantee they are just plates. I’ve never seen 8mm with studs. Smallest I’ve seen is 15mm.

Yes you will need long studs. No one I know of makes a longer stud with the same thread pitch(Stock being 1.25) So you will have to upgrade to a longer stud with a 1.5 thread pitch and this also requires new lugs! :E
longer studs even on an 8mm spacer?
Yes. You will be wanting AT LEAST half of the lug to thread on to the stud. 8mm is just a bit too thick. I think the most I have heard people running with the stock studs is 5mm(can someone confirm this?). But I definatly would not want to be running 8mm spacers on my car with the same studs :lol:
