Bought this car off turbociv 3 years ago and its been my daily ever since. Last summer I put in a m50b25tu out of a 93 325i. I’ve been planning on picking up something else for a while now so I decided to put it for sale today.
Actual car has about 220k miles on it, motor has about 160k
Car itself has:
bilstein BTS kit front and rear suspension (springs/shocks)
4.10 lsd rear diff
billet rear shock mounts
2pc bbs rm’s
e36 steering rack
turbociv put in a new tank when he owned it
In regards to the m50 swap:
Motor has solid compressions across the board, ranged from 192-198psi, pulls like a champ
e34 m50 oil pan
e34 m50 throttle cable
rebuilt alternator
rebuilt starter
new valve cover gasket + spark plugs
new intake manifold and throttle body gaskets
super sprint knockoff headers
15lb chromoly flywheel
new sachs pressure plate + new f1 racing 5 puck sprung clutch
getrag 250 tranny with uuc delrin shifter bushings and new guibo
e28 engine mounts
modified e21 brake booster
plug and play harness adapter
dual exhaust fabbed up by mufflerman
Bad Stuff:
No carpet
Door bottoms are rusting due to plugged drains
Passenger and drive footwells have rot holes so floorpans will need some patching
Passenger rear brake flex line started leaking today
However all structural parts are solid, frame, jack points etc so If you’re half decent at welding, one weekends worth of work could fix 80% of the rust on this car.
Asking price is $3000, which is basically what I paid for it when I first got it before I put in the m50 and all the assorted parts. If I don’t get the asking price I’ll just get to work on it after school is done this week and probably keep it and turn it into a sweet driftmobile.
After taking a closer look, it would seems its one of the hardlines coming out of the tee-fitting thats to blame. Either way it’ll be fixed sometime next week.
It looks worse than it seems, the only real rot is where its obvious in the pics, everything else is pretty much just surface rust. If it doesn’t sell for my asking price I’ll just weld up the floor pans after
schools finished and probably keep it. Judging by what other e30s are selling for, I think the price is fair for a m50 swapped e30 that has a solid frame.
ive driven by this a few times when it was out around the island…defineatly needs some rust repair but its worth saving. dont think i would pay the asking price though with the body work needed. glws.
