The car has regular rust in a few places (a few bubbles on the fenders, some surface rust under the car, etc), rails have been welded and fixed here and there, but is structurally very sound. The photos in this ad were taken 2 days ago, the day it came out of storage.
The HSD coils were brand new and put on about a month before it went into storage. The Bings catback exhaust (and brand new catalytic converter), aftermarket wheel (HKB D1), wheel hub (HKB Sports Boss) and Tomei Duracon Knob were all installed around the same time, and all are brand new. It also has very new tires on the rear (possibly the front too, I don’t remember). The wheels are generic and have crap fitment, nbd. I also have a wingless trunk lid I’ll throw in, needs a little work to fit (and paint).
The interior is in fairly good shape, a burn here, a scratch there. Nothing really major. It has a pretty decent stereo + speakers with iPod control and amp/sub wiring (just needs and amp/sub), and a Viper alarm / keyless entry.
A few months before I had it put away, it was in Chris St. John’s garage for a good tuneup, and to fix a number of issues. The only problem with the car when I put it in storage was the starter. I had it replaced twice, and for some reason it keeps seizing up, likely something very simple, just didn’t get it worked out. The starter itself is fine, it’s the part that engages the starter that seizes. The car has a stock KA, with a ton of km’s on it, still ran pretty well when I last drove it. A new clutch was put in last year, not many km’s on it. The rad is very new, and the brakes were done fairly recently as well. The A/C doesn’t work.
Besides the starter issue, as any car fresh out of storage, It would need to be tuned up properly before being drivable (ie oil change, drain / replace fuel, charge battery etc). The windshield has a fairly large crack in the passenger side, but it is only exterior. May need new glass for safety.
Now, to be 100% clear - this car is offered AS-IS. I will not safety it, e-test it, or get it running for anyone, period. You bring cash, and you tow it away. If you feel like pulling it onto the road in front of my house and working on it for a few hours, that’s up to you, just don’t leave any fluids on the street
For the price I’m offering, I can’t put it in the shop and spend money on it. If I was going to do that, I’d have to keep it for myself.
It’s an awesome car and it kills me to have to sell it, I just don’t have room in the driveway. The car is NOT a rust bucket, it’s in good shape and would make for an awesome project car.
