That car is a DOHC, I had one (mine was an ACR). If this was a SOHC coupe I would be all over it, I’m looking for a cheap rust free car that can be converted to an SCCA IT race car (88-95 Civic hatch DX or Si, SOHC Neon, SE-R, NX, DOHC Saturn) DOHC Neons are at a slight disadvantage in their class, they have to weigh 200lbs more then SOHC Neons, and the DOHC engine does not handle consistent high RPM as well as the SOHC engine. However the 2.4 rockers help, and I believe it’s a legal mod (not positive though).
This is an awesome price for a nice car, sounds like it will need both and engine and tranny, but those can be found pretty cheap. It would make an excellent street, or autocross car.
