yah dont worry. I have a hummingbird fish finder. My last time out before winter when the shores were ice over a good 20ft out, the water was 38*. if I had to guess right now, its prolly low-mid 40’s.

also, I have never actually caught any pike/muskies out of little round lake but My biggest northern came near the little round lake inlet where a brook trout stream dumps in, in 4ft of water. He was 40".

I know the lake like the back of my hand so I know where the hot spots are. The whole lake is pretty much weeds and most survive the winter. My buddy has gone out in the early ice off for the last few years and he was telling me a few months back how he would just see monster muskies and northerns sitting in the shallows and “fighting eachother” so if we are going to try to land a monster, right now is the best time IMO. Once it warms up, the muskies are few and far between and very hard to get. There is also a bait shop right down the road that has 3 different sized suckers. When I was in there for ice fishing he had some 12" suckers. I dont know if he still have them but I will bring my trolling rod with a sucker setup and my two spin casters.

Man with the plan glad to see we are both on the same page!!! I havnt boated a big pike/musky in over 2 years, big as in +36" I am ready to go. My father busts my ball when early season hes looking for bass and I am throwing a 3oz inline buck tail or the other ridiculously large musky baits! Alll I need is ONE hit! just one!!!

But yeah same here ill bring a rod to throw bait out and drag it around, and 3 more combos for casting. One no leader with a spinerbait, one leader with big weighted worm hook and rubber swim bait, slugo, etc and other with a leader for jerks, top raider and other shit to change up fast.
