WTB oil pan tap

I am looking for a threaded barb fitting to tap my oil pan with. I can seem to find anything in the 3/4 size i need. can anyone help me out?

didnt we already go over this a month back.

there isnt enough meat to tap in the civic pans… safely.

I assume you need a 3/4 NPT thread of an oil return? If so I might have the correct size weld bung on my shelf, and can TIG it on the pan, just about anywhere you need it. PM me if you are interested.

OR, I have a bunch of 1/4" thick round punch slugs of aluminum I use to weld on catch cans and what not, so when you drill and tap, you have 1/4" + what ever thickness material you welded it to to get plenty of threads cut in to hold very well.

I also have the 3/4 NPT tap set, so what ever you decide to do, I can do it for ya. so PM me.

Both solutions are the best.

Did you try www.MSCdirect.com ?

I have seen numerous fittings jb welded in without problems. But welding a bung in would be a more correct way of doing it.

EFFFF that, leaving a snail trail of 10W30 behind your car when it comes loose SUCKKKS!

lol

OP, ill weld that bitch on there right for you for pennies. get at me man.

krazy i am not questioning what you are saying but i have had a tapped pan for 6 years with no problem other than location. or it can be welded i just dont have an insane amount of time. I dont need an npt fitting it just has to have a thread on one end and a barb fitting on the other. I dont have the ability to drive it too far due to the oil problem.

no offense taken man.

I still dont understand exactly what you need?

one of these?:

Male 3/4 in. NPT to -12 AN Hose Barb

if so they are $5 from summit. I might even have them here too… ill have to look.

i have d and b series tapped pans which do you need?

i need a d but it has to be in the correct location. the one i have now makes the return sit on the down pipe and every 2 years it burns a hole in the oil line. i have tried everything else.

i have a y8 pan thats already drilled and also a fitting for a -10 line. PM me if you want it cheap . Have my old shit just laying around that I dont need anymore…

i will shoot a pic of were its at tommorow for ya.

thanks guys this is all a great help. i dont have a tap set that is this large and this has been a pain for me for years.

I do, like i said. Bring me the pan, clean. I will weld a slug on it where ever you please, drill and tap. Collect 20 dollhairs and send you on your way.

ohh and my shop is 15 minutes from you if you are in Ballston Spa… right off exit 8 or 8A, on Rt 9.
