I bought a brand new B&M short shifter about a month and a half to two
months ago. I was planning on installing it in the spring, but I have
changed my car plans and no longer have a use for it.

Does anyone know if you need to drop the tranny a little bit for installation? I have heard you do, and I have also heard that you do not have to.

In my experience, yes. The B&M is longer than anyone of the other SS so you need to loosen the tranny mount. Its still very easy to do.

i’ve installed a b&m short shifter on my friends car and you do not need to drop the tranny, nor go under the car. just use a wrench and then unloosen them with your fingers. it all matters from what angle you attack it at. took me and my friend 30min to install the first time.

as far as i know, you don’t need to drop the tranny. i looked at the instructions, doesn’t specify anything about playing around with the tranny position. install instructions are very straight-forward, so installation shouldn’t be an issue.

i know you think i lowballed you with 200$ offer, but even pdm racing sell it for 200 us and thats the new version. well its a wise choice to install it on your own car anyways, its tight :slight_smile:
