FS: Shark Meat

I got a bunch of Hammerhead and Black Tip shark meat. Caught by my father in Florida in the spring.

$20 a bag. Each bag is approximately 8"x12" and I’d say 5lbs-10lbs.

how do you cook it ? maybe interested in some new food

I prefer slowly smoking it or marinating it overnight and cooking it on the grill

its much tougher than most fish, more like the characteristics of chicken

very interested…i’m gonna call my uncle today who’s huge into fishing and preparing seafood and see if he has any good recipes for it…i’ll be PM’ing you later :tup:

Shark steaks are amazing when cooked with almost any beer/wine/liquor

Make sure you keep the skin and use it as sandpaper.

how big are the steaks??? like 1lb a steak or are they 4lb steaks?

they’re cut into smaller cubes, I’m not exactly sure on the dimensions and weights

cut like a 10oz sirloin steak that you’d get at a restaurant

had mako shark from wegmans before, definetly amazing stuff, cooks just like chicken, i might be interested if my mom wants to buy some

The last time I cooked a shark steak, I marinated it overnight in balsamic vinagrette, seared it in a pan with my spices and a little Captain Morgan, then threw it on the grill and basted it with honey.

If you like cooking the different combos and preparations are almost endless
