FS: Turn Key Rally car, 1991 HONDA CIVIC

1991 Honda Civic SI, with JDM ZC motor.
Motor has around 60,000 on it, the chasie has 118,000.
The car was originally from Virginia and since it came here 7 years ago I have owned it.
Built in the winter and spring of 2003 by Bruce Perry the roll cage has something like 24 points of attachments. Bruce builds one mean cage.
The whole car has been seam welded.
The motor is basically stock; it has a cold air intake, headers, custom built stainless steel exhaust, and a lightened flywheel.
The suspension is a ground control coil over system with Bilstein shocks, revalved for Rally.
Inside the battery has been relocated,
The seats are OMP ECO Racing Seat tube frame, (Homologated to FIA standard)
The Terratrip 202 plus Rally Computer might be included in the sale, if you really need it.
It comes with Terratrip Terraphone Intercoms, Professional Intercom Amplifier, Dual Volume Controls, Radio Interface Plug, and Professional Practice Headset, Pair; 1 Right Side, 1 Left Side. If you need them too.
Momo quick release steering wheel.
Spares include a complete other 1991 Civic SI. It would be a part car basically, it does have a motor in it (but kinda beat stock D16a) tranny, all suspension parts, glass, fenders, doors, hood, bumpers and so on.
It comes with 9 rally rims, I don’t know who makes them, but they have been great for me.
1 set of steel rims with Hakka 1’s for the winter.
5 Tarmac Rally tires.
I have two complete heads for the ZC motor one has been decked 55mm for when I was going to get a valve job done, and I never did.

History of the car
When I got it it had been hit from behind and crushed the driver’s rear quarter. I fixed that and then began running SCCA Rallycrosses in 2002. The car was then given to Bruce Perry to build an indestructible cage. He did it over the course of a few months. When he was done it was taken to a friends garage where we put in the motor I got from Rich Smith. He had the motor for 5,000 miles and when he bought it from a JDM source the motor had 45,000 to 55,000 on it. The suspension was next and I went with the Ground Control coilovers mostly because they were inexpensive. The shocks are revalved for rallying by Bilstein, which have been great.
By the summer/fall of 2003 the car was complete and I wanted to get a rally in by the end of the year so I went north of the border for the Rally of Tall Pines. The car ran fantastic, until the wire from the distributor going to the MSD 6a Ignition box rubbed metal. The car died, but we fixed it on stage and continued on. Until it happened again, and this time it wasn’t obvious and a fuse blew in the main box under the hood. I couldn’t figure out the problem and we DNF on our first rally of a $1.79 fuse, on the last stage of the rally.
We got home and got the car ready for STPR 2004 by taking the stupid MSD box out of the car, Honda’s don’t need them, and putting many things back to stock. We must have done something right because we finished our first STPR, in a year that was so rainy and slippery. We did slide into the side of a mountain cracking the driver’s side fog light.
In 2005 I just did Rallycrosses and did some minor things to the car to make it better. I decided to not run 2005 STPR to save some money and go all out for 2006. Again we must have done something right because we came out and won our class in the second divisional. On the way, in the first divisional, I again slid into an embankment. This time a little harder. The tire popped a bead and the impact set the alignment off. We stopped on stage and changed a tire and limped it to service where my crew fixed the alignment.

There is only 3 Rallies and 2 seasons of rallycrosses on this car.
It has not been beat to hell.

This car is a proven winner
In 2006 I won the Outstanding Rally Driverof the year award.

it blows my mind that a FWD car can be a competetive rally car. GLWTS, 10k in this market for a race car seems to be a lot. (i dont know the market for rally cars in ny obviously) but looks like a clean car.

so cool

Damn thats cool. GLWS

That’s F-in BAD-ASS! Sweetest Rally car Evar!

If I had some extra loot i’d snatch it up in a second.

I love it.

fully seam welded and caged. Must be stiff as hell. Cool car. Hell of a price tag!

Thats awesome

There is a 2wd NA class (group 2), so you don’t have to compete directly with the awd turbo monsters.

that’s what i assumed Lol. cool
