Hi all. Havent decided yet if im selling but thought Id throw it on here and see what happens. Up for potential sale is a 94 eagle summit. 5 speed shifts smooth as silk. Clutch is still good. Engine starts up and runs great. Was my DD for about 1/2 years. Battery is about 2 years old. The head was replaced at about the 130k mark due to a snapped timing belt. In other words the timing belt and head were replaced at 130k. The car currently has about 165k on it if i remember correctly.
The bad:
The body isnt the best. The paint is faded, but from what I remember when I used to wash the car it would actually shine up pretty good with a bit of wax on it. There are also some rust spots here and there and decent sized dents on the body (major ones are behind drivers(foot) and passenger doors(parking lot incident before i got it)).
The interior needs to be cleaned.
Mechanically as stated it starts and drives just fine. The only mechanical issue that comes to mind are the valve seals. It smokes a bit of blue on start up and than it clears right up. As far as oil consumption that is the only spot. I can actually replace the valve seals and probably will pretty soon. They are actually damn easy to do if you know what your doing. No leaks that I remember either. Oh ya. the gas tank was also replaced about a year ago with one from the good door store. The tank was pretty much new when I put it in.
As far as gas mileage was concerned Id get damn near 40mpg if I didnt beat the shit out of it. The worst mileage I have ever got with that little car was about 30mpg.
Thats really all that comes to mind. Will post up some pics later today
Just got it running and remembered a few things. The downpipe is leaky and somewhat loud. nothing too crazy though.
Has a shortened CAI from a civic. (picked it up at wallmart lol).
the exhaust is 2/3’s new from the cat back to the stainless muffler.
The cat is gutted so during winter months or when its freezing out the check engine light will come on untill the o2 sensor warms up, than it turns off. (dont know how that works without catalyst but it does).
Front left tire has a small leak. Rather the valve stem leaks, not the tire its self.
Still no pics but will have some up by tomorrow evening the latest.
Its a two door. Think mitsibishi mirage. Same thing. 93% of the parts are interchangable. Honestly i was gona drop a 4g63t in it and beat it to death but unfortunately i dont have much time to play anymore.
Would make a sweet as sleeper though for anyone motivated enough.
Thought Id bump this for the hell of it. The valve seals are now replaced. Still needs some exhaust work, and front brakes.
I priced the downpipe on E-bay and its going to be like 80’ish bucks shipped, and the front brake caliper kit(complete with pads calipers and brackets) was like 100 bucks from AZ
I also forgot to mention this initially but the water pump was also replaced about 8k miles ago.
I had one of those (Plymouth Colt actually, same thing) I bought it brand new in '93 for $7788. I never got less than 40mpg, and it was a fun little car.
Some specs for those interested
1.5l 12 valve
2000lbs or so
92hp IIRC
came with 155/80-13’s They had no grip, but they had a lot of grip in snow.
I had mine to 115mph, so it can get out of it’s own way
Im sure I’m overlooking something so dont hesitate to ask questions. Oh ya. the tranny oil was changed with syncromesh about 6-8k miles ago. If I can find it I will also toss in the other bottle of syncromesh i have kicking around. Oh ya, the oil will be changed as well.
Haha. Honestly it is a fun little car. I really dont want to get rid of it. Id much rather keep it and do an AWD conversion to it than build a motor for it. But my Bro in law might be getting rid of his jeep and i have first dibs on it, and besides, id much rather put some money in my e46
Well, I might want to buy it for my niece, I’m waiting on her answer now, if she wants it (I would fix it first) I’ll come look at it tonight with cash.
