I been using 340 aeromotive in tank fuel pump with factory fuel lines without any problems. I upgraded my fuel lines to a -6 feed and return. My car is set to 7psi of boost and 50psi of fuel pressure. When i’m boosting i c 57psi of fuel pressure up to 5500rpm and after it’s loosing pressure. I never had this issue before i upgraded my fuel lines. I’m still using factory fuel pump wiring. Any knowledge on this issue.
Thanks
Aeromotive shit sucks ! Prolly had no issue keeping pressure on small stock lines and now ya have bigger lines it needs to push more fuel to keep pressure . Think of it as the garden hose /straw effect bigger hose needs more volume to keep pressure ,smaller straw needs less volume to keep pressure .
Check the FPR, and also the vaccumm line going to it
Can you log voltage and/or amperage at the pump while youre driving?
Might want to consider a pump rewire depending on what you find.
Theres a chart showing pressure vs current draw, plus a diagram for a rewire if you need it.
Thanks for the respond. The regulator and vacuum hose is good. It holds pressure up to 5500 rpm. I will check the voltage at load c if it drops and will rewire the pump with a bigger gauge wire. If that wont help will change pump. Let u know thanks again.
Rewrite the pump for certain. Most times in this scenario that’s the fault
Problem solved. It was a two day old XRP inline 10 micron fuel filter that mounts after the fuel pump and before the fuel rail. Since the filter has stainless steel screen i boil it for a hour and it was good after that. Will check on it in a week or two. Filter size 2.5" long, 1" diameter, so it dont cover so much area for filtering. Most likely ill be ordering a high flow filter.
Thanks again
