Fun Ford Weekend - Norwalk, OH **Vid**

Well, me and the misses, along with a few others traveled to Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, OH for the Fun Ford events this weekend.

What a great time! Though we didnt bring the Stang…there were over 1000 tech cards processed, including a good friend’s mustang, as well as the big boys UPR Turbo mustangs (absolutely SIQQQ)…aka Tim Lynch, Conrad Scary & a few others.

Tons of action as well as some carnage. Racing started at 8am sharp all weekend…cars running/warming up etc. as early as 6am… non stop until 11 pm-ish.

My friends supercharged fox body, had the s/c impeller grenade…sending pieces and parts right to the top of the pistons…on a freshly built motor (less than 100 miles). Rough night for them, but they did bust an 11.07 pass (new best).

Anywho…i just slapped this quick video together, showing some of my fav. pics and clips…its just a very small percentage of what was covering those 100 acres for 3 days straight. I still have over 1000 pics and 4-5 hours of video clips to sort through…will post them up soon.

Cool stuff.
Must have been a ton of Chevy engines in those ponies  Lifting the wheels off the ground and such

You know where the upload button it. Anxious to see more pics

You friends fox body that you guys just finished??? :frowning:

yep…that’d be the one. gonna have about 550 pics to upload tonight from just my camera…
“anxious” to see more fords huh…LOL

I miss those events quite a bit. When I bought my 88 LX 12 years ago, I never planned on taking it to the track. Over the next two years, I went to:

  1. Bristol FFW
  2. Atlanta FFW
  3. Gainesville FFW
  4. Spring Break shootout in Bradenton
  5. 5.0 Civil Wars in Rockingham
  6. Norwalk
  7. Various IHRA events in Pure Stock/L trim (2 year record)

Anyway, maybe I’ll have it back together next year and run this event.

My wife and I were there a couple of weeks ago for the NHRA National that was there. Bill Bader did an absolutely amazing job on the track and facility upgrades. Easily the nicest facility I’ve been to so far.

i missed the nats, but was supposed to go. That facility is AMAZING to say the least. very clean. we are going again in 2 weeks to watch John force and a bunch of others run their nitro funny cars in the night of fire event…

Earlier this year I told myself I’d go to one of these events…it’s been too long since I’ve gone. The last one I made was WFC7 in St. Louis! Definitely good times…and it’s amazing how fast these cars are running now.

I went to a FFW in Norwalk a few years ago. It was a great time. Its fun waking up in a tent on the grounds to the sound of cars screaming down the track at 130mph.

BTW, pics are up
