when i had my rx7 (rhd) i was driving with my dog, he was on the left hand seat and some people actualy thought my dog was driving my car and i was sitting the in passenger seat.
I’ve had people at school ask my why my rad (intercooler) was pushed up so close to my bumper. I told them I hit the brakes REALLY hard once and it pushed forward.
There was a guy at a light once who rolled down his window and said “nice skyline”. I drive a 240 coupe lol.
There was also one time at school when a guy asked me why my car stayed running for a minute or two when i parked. I told him it was this crazy bug that came with my japanese engine. He just said “thats not right man, could just be a fuse or something.” haha
i always have old people telling me i cant put my" rad " which is my intercooler right at the front of my s14 like that … so i tell them its for air from the turbo then ther say some thing like why do u need that big of piping for your anti freeze then they tell my about there v8 lincoln or something and how that has big rad hoses and since mine is a import i dont need that big of a hose…
i also had a lady yell at me in future shop parking lot for having a carbon fiber hood she told me to paint my hood so the person in front of me can see me driving behind them…
needless to say me and my buddy laugh right in that bitches face for at least 5 min i almost pissed my self it was just so random and she was so mad and threatened to call her husband to come to beat me up and paint my hood …because hes a house painter and has access to lots of paint hahaha … so we laughed at here again till her friend in the back seat told her to drive away
oh and the best one was i had a guy follow me from rundle park to about londonderry mall were i live, i pulled up in my drive way and this guy 30- 40 years old gets and starts walking to wards so im thinking i pissed him off and now we are going to fight he walks right up to me and said he a mechanic and he heard my engine making this pfffffffffff sound every time i was shifting and that it means i have a crack in my block and my pistons or something are combusting but all the energy from that is leaking out of my engine i looked at him like wtf are u talking about u crazy fool that makes no sence he told me he works on jdm car like mine all the time … long story short i started the car up and reved it … now what do u think on a turbo sr20det would make a loud pfffffffffffffff sound …bov …oh you would be right this dude that works on these car all day had never seen a bov before or even heard of one he thought i had made it my self he gave me his cell home number on a pizza box he ripped from my garbage and told me to call him if i need any work done… :vom:
Not GTR related, but this weekend at the track I was pulling into the burnout box and the guy made a motion for me to stop when I dropped my front wheels into it. I just shook my head and put the back wheels in, and he gave me a sheepish look. :lol:
I have no interesting stores like those. Only the “your car is wrong hand drive!” comments which are stupid. Everyone always asks if its hard to drive on the right hand side.
When I lived in BC, I had an AirCare emissions tester drive my '81 Toyota Corolla onto a rolling road while I filled out some paper work. Of course, he put the front wheels on the dyno, and if I hadn’t noticed he would have driven my car car through the back wall of the shop…he looked pretty sheepish as well!
I had some farmers in Valemount gawking at my s14 when i stopped to grab a quick snack. I came out and the one guy asked me “what kinda charger is this?” i laughed my ass off. Big Nissan symbol on the back, says 240sx right there… “Its not a charger, its a 240… much much faster” did a burn out and watched them all grin in my mirror. i think they all relived their youth at that moment.

I got asked how i could drive with my pedals being backwards at light once, that one made me laugh my ass off. I do get lots of people arguing with me that I drive a skyline and tell me things about it, even though i drive a Silvia. I usually just smile and say thanks for the compliments

That list is definate proof that its not the engine that makes the car fast, but how the car as a whole is engineered. Its really hard to explain this to people, especially when most people think its horsepower alone that wins races. If your a drag car, then sure. But no track car will win with pure hp alone.

Umm… 200hp difference and they’re one second apart.
All he’s saying is the GTR may not have the ridiculous hp #s but it might still be fast as fuck around a track (i.e. compared to z06 with ~100 more hp)
