He’s going to be pissed when the $100 pro just flips the switch to “on”
is the gas line to the heater open?
My buddy does heating and air, he can swing out for a little side money if you need. LMK or PM me and I will call him.
Call Roys Plumbing. Just had them out to clean both of my furnaces. Guy was very honest about everything. Told me I needed new pads for my humidifiers. He said Roys charges $25, but I can just go to HD and get them for $15. He also showed me how to get the old pad out and install the new ones.
If you didn’t get it, PM me, my dad used to own a heating/air business he can definitely help you out.
GSX saved the day…pushed a bunch of buttons and made things work
nvm Justin fixed it
Bump for similar issue. Changed thermo batteries just in case. Reset breaker just in case. The fan turns on but it’s blowing cold air. I can hear every so often a light clanking but nothing else is happening. Any ideas or suggestions who I can call and trust won’t rip me off?
Thanks
How old is your furnace? If it’s newer and powered by a circuit board then this might help… I had an issue, twice now, with a bird getting stuck in the outlet fan that blew the exhaust gases to the chimney. Apparently the bird sits on top of the chimney, then the CO2 comes up and knocks the bird out and it falls to the bottom of the chimney. When it wakes up, it can’t fly straight up, but usually gets high enough to get in the exhaust pipe for the furnace where he finds his way down to the fan, gets stuck and dies. Both times the heater pushed air through the ducts but no heat came out.
You’ll just have to take the exhaust fan out and check it, it takes about 15 minutes on most units.
The first time it cost me $80 to have someone fix it, the second time I was smart enough to take it apart and check.
Thanks for the info. It’s a high efficiency I had installed 12 years ago. Time flies, I had no clue it was that old till I dug out the receipt. Newer model so no pilot so that’s not the issue. Starter coil seems logical. I just hope they don’t play the “cracked heat exchanger” game on me. That’s the main reason I’m asking for a lead because I know that’s a common thing.
Intake and exhaust both clear? More than like half a pound differential pressure and it won’t kick on.
Sullivan HVAC in West Seneca. Can’t say anything but good things about them. Always serviced my old one, and cut me an awesome deal on a new one before I sold my house. Everyone was professional and the prices were very reasonable and the work professional.
Ah damn. My friend is a tin knocker for allied mechanical and does side work but I don’t have his number. I might see him Monday but you probably don’t want to wait that long.
$38 and getting dirty was all it took. Ignition coil was cracked. I love simple fixes. Thanks again for the info and suggestions.
Where is 2turboz?
