fwd sr20det vs rwd ANY DIFFERENCE

sup…anywase i just recently (somehow) blew up my motor and i was wondering if the jdm s13 rwd sr20det is the same block as the fwd sr20det found in north america, if so what would the difference be?

for one, the motor mount locations are compleatly different and wont bolt up to your mounts.

There’s a North American turbo SR20DE?

no

I heard the Nissan X-Trail GT comes with an SR20VET with variable valve lift as well as timing.

I don’t know if this was in North America too or only in Japan though :?

There are FWD sr20dets you can get, i forget what they were called, like blue something or other.

The U13 Bluebird, which was never available here.

sr20det maybe…

Wherever that’s from, whether it’s true or not, is not Canada, or the USA. And I highly doubt they have it in Mexico. Therefore it’s not North American.

Ours has the QR25DE

I got SR20VET on some link. The V is supposed to indicate that it has variable valve lift, as well as timing.

The SR20DET has only variable valve timing. The new engine is supposedly made in 2001+ for the X-Trail GT only, and in Japan only i guess.

When I find that link again I’ll let you know.

thats great…

the SR20VET is sold only in the X-trail with 276 hp in japan because japan had the Xtrea and they wanted a more sporty version of it. Here the Xtrail has the QR25DE like axlerod said.

so no there is no SR20DET or variation of SR20DET in north america.

Autobacs made a sort of production car using the SR20VET, I don’t think it’s X-Trail only.
