FYI>Nice '96 300TT for sale on the Calgary Zclub page

For anyone looking for a good deal on a Z car this might be the best I have seen in a while. I have yet to see one in this shape that came anywhere close to that $$ (in the '96 model year)

Don’t knoiw the guy, don’t know the car, just came across it and while browsing the site and thought I would pass it on since it looked good.

Doh can’t say I would be impressed about the dog in the car! I barely let my kids in my Z…lol

My comments:

  • nice find

  • his pictures are lousy quality.

  • its an American car (not that it matters), which doesn’t surprise me actually. I have yet to find any 96 Twin Turbos that were sold new in Alberta, and I’ve kept my eyes out for them for the last 6 years, just a curiousity of mine. I don’t think there were any actually. I doubt Nissan Canada even sold many in Canada as a whole in the final year. I did come across a few 96 NAs in Alberta though, one in Edmonton and a couple in Calgary, but that’s about it.

  • his description of the features makes me laugh. Anyone that is specifically looking for a Z32TT will already know most of those facts, it almost sounds like the guy is bragging… preaching to the choir? LOL. Most people will know its twin turbocharged in parallel configuration, and know its DOHC, and know its direct ignition, etc.

-13.7s 1/4 mile stock? Haha. Its funny how people always grab the BEST test data and always quote that. If you made a bell curve of test data from the various magazines, the 13.7 is only one extreme. The data actually ranged from an awesome 13.7 to a mediocre 14.6, depending who tested it and when. To suggest all cars can pull a 13.7 is silly. The median is about ~ 14.2. I’ll tell ya, my car when stock while testing with my G-Tech Pro way back was a lot closer to the 14.6 extreme… but sigh, I’m a lousy driver. (and still am… LOL).

  • the car’s mileage is roughly the same as mine, but is three model years newer than mine… and it needed rebuilt turbos and heads already? WTF? That is odd, and a bit suspicious.

  • otherwise sounds like a good car and a decent price for a rare 96. If the mileage was a bit less and the car was mint and immaculate (ie. no worn interior pieces, no rebuilt engine components, etc.) that car could still pull over $30k asking price, at least in the Alberta market.

dog hair interior

I know what you mean on the mileage and all the replaced parts, I would say depending on how many owners and what records were intact would be the tell tale sign of that , a single or maybe 2 owners with a full history wouldn’t be too bad even if it was driven hard but taken care of when things did break.

I also found it funny reading his description, takes me back to when I first started looking at the 300 but you’re right anyone looking specifically for this car already knows this stuff.

The dog sucks! Do get me wrong I like dogs but I would have to make her run behind the car if I had to take her anywhere that involved my Z. I can’t believe he would even do that let alone advertise it with the hound hangin out the window.

Still all said I think it would be worth looking at for anyone in the market.

1992 Z32 FS at Ericksen

red outside, black inside, 5speed, leather, and i think it was an older doctor who owned it, not sure, though. only 64000 kms

immaculate inside and out, kinda pricey, though

Very pricey, especially since its only a 3 cylinder.

Bwaa I saw that right away to, must be the super econo model!

heheh… yea, i should tell one of them about that…

oh, and its a TT, i dont think it said that on there either

that '96 TTZ in calgary got me curious so i called him…the guy said it’s practically mint and runs like new…i find that 23,900 is a very generous price…but maybe that’s just me

what about anyone else…is there something wrong with the car to be asking such a price??

Man I dunno, something in my gut says there has to be some “issues” with it or skeletons in its closet that he is just afiling to mention. Its been wrecked maybe? Did you ask him if its a clean title? That you even need to be careful with and run a carfax on it, its a US car thats been imported. I had one '96 I looked at that had a clean Alberta title but when I ran the carfax it had been salvaged 3 times in the US!!! Stolen once wrote off, sunk once in water and crashed a third time.

Look at a couple of the pics, the gaps where the rear bumber and at the front of the doors looks a little on the large side, maybe its just the angle or lighting. It would be pretty easy to spot if you went and looked in person.
