On my GTP I lost the gas cap and the check engine light came on. So i picked up a new aftermarket one and the light goes out. In a few days it comes back on. So I figure just crappy aftermarket garbage. I went and got a GM one and the light went out. Fiiled up my tank and now its on again. Anyone know how to fix it? It is anoying having that light on.
My grand am does the same thing. Apparently you hafta run 50 or 60 miles before the ligth will go off again… Atleast, that’s what works for me.
do you pump gas with the car running? i used to do that until i got a cel and checked the code. if that’s the case… reset ur comp, shut the car off when you pump and it should be fine.
I pump the gas with the car off. I just think it is wierd how the new gas cap worked for one fill up then the next the light came back on.
