gas prices, insurance, police

A car is a luxury. You can take the bus, Hamilton’s transit system is pretty good. Or go to a garage sale and get a $20 bike. There are different ways to get around. A car is the most expensive choice yet most convient.

http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/global_gasprices/

In poor countries where gas is high like for example Hungary. People drive cars from engine sizes from 0.6L to 1.3L and diesels with the same size engine. A 1.6 is considered a gas guzzler. I rock a 1.6l civic for a daily I still get around 11km/$1.

And as for insurance when it happenned you should have been on the phone complaing non stop stop until they change it. And check www.insurancehotline.com and www.kinetix.ca for better rates. Insurance companies always try to fuck you. I use these websites every year that I renew and if my current comPany charges more than another company they match it just like a cell phone provider.

cars used to be a luxury but in north america they are an absolute necessity in fact husband and wife working is usually a necessity just to cover expenses thus a second car becomes a necessity. Yes you can take ‘public transport’ but how about people like myself it would take 3 hours to get to my job if i took go train and bus. No thanks. I take an hour one way by car. It’s not a luxury. My car breaks down I’m pretty much fucked. As is I have little to myself, 4 more hours a day for travel would mean I literally come home and sleep and wake up work and go back and sleep on repeat.

A fast sports car or fancy lexus/benz is a luxury car if you can afford it because it becomes a want rather than a need.

In other countries in the past it wasn’t a necessity like when I lived in europe at one point, not everyone had a car, or needed one because things were so close, your job was so close, etc… but the north american life style is being transported everywhere europe, north africa, middle east, it’s becoming fast paced, materialistic, and you really are just a consummer, working like a slave throughout the week, spending over the weekend on repeat. Everything at fast pace.

Secondly the governments world wide are garbage but no matter how much you complain or speak about it you’ll really make little impact other than be potentially black listed by certain groups. We live a very crooked world. Voting is an illusion as the same crooks are in the same clubs. Just different ways to silence true opposition and voice. It’s a sham, a scam.

Sure there are people making 300,000$ a year 'legitimately ’ but there is a hell of alot more people making 30k<. I’m lucky that i make double that but at the same time im just meeting expenses/bills/etc… as im the sole person working at the moment. Food prices have doubled in some cases honestly and you wouldn’t notice that unless you buy regularly and pay attention. That alone makes things more difficult and i consume alot of food than the average person so it costs me and i feel it. I don’t eat like a bird.

Gas of course I feel it, and during winter when i take the cover for a wash easily i can spend 70-80 each time… thats nuts :-/

It’s funny because each time the US invades an oil rich country the price actually went up (iraq, now libya). You would think the prices would go down, sarcasm and cynicism aside, seriously.

The reason is the corporations/government (i like to look at both as one in hand) are evil… and there’s nothing we can do about it at the moment unless people revolt as they did in african and middle eastern countries but people in north america are government fearing and police fearing and any opposition is black listed/bad mouthed through the media as some evil dooers period. They’ll dig up dirt on you and smear your image before you can even speak your mind. That is the western media way.

Lastly the problem in canada are roads and drivers. Roads are poor shit quality, I already went through phases of frustration and complaining about it all…but all i got was sheeple attacking me back who don’t know better so they think i’m ‘ungrateful’ (HAHA). Canadian roads suck, the drivers are incompetent (don’t pay attention, poor reactions, fearful, etc…) and lastly the laws suck, but again I will have no ability to change any. If it makes money or saves money that will be okay, if it loses money to government that will not happen (hence aversion of old laws or even newly introduced laws that make the gov alot of money will likely not be averted).

Government/politicians in the west work by fear of reputation/position and losing/making money, that’s their squeezing point. Anything else, they don’t give a shit about in reality and will smile and act smart about but really don’t give a shit period. Face it.

I’ve driven 300 on the autobahn, the road is fucking fantastic, the drivers are fantastic (i mean when in the slower lane ppl are driving 180km/hr… lol) its not always that people go this fast but just as a point… speed is not dangerous, incompetent drivers are… speed is not incompetence… but fear mongering of it will never avert that here.

Lastly bitching on a forum like this is okay to vent but you will not avert anything but get frustrated and get people to attack you. Honestly most people either don’t know better or truly believe what is happening in the country is ‘the best’ since slice bread. Most people’s responses is live with it, go to another country, sarcasm, or racial/whatever attacks if you have been in other countries LOL.

And insurance companies… they should be a choice not mandatory, but again corporations and governments are nothing but mafia… and certainly insurance money is no different to me than mafia ‘protection money’. We protect you you pay us, you dont pay us we hit you, see you next day chap i hope you change your mind. lol. Insurance/gov same thing, hey you dont pay, very well then you’ll pay the government 5000$ and lose demerit points or something like that, so you think twice before you do it again

Anyways… now the whole world is fucked really badly… even places i once lived that were really nice are total shit now… and seriously the cheapness model of western countries is being imported everywhere else, the stress and fast pace of life, everything. So guess what? Deal with it. I gave up of being pissed off at rush hour as I cannot change morons and their inability to drive or laws and roads which are poorly designed. As my ideas would cost money the government certainly wouldn’t listen.

Oh and lastly just to add driving on our roads 200+ is a bit dangerous even if you are competent enough simply because the roads are trash… i mean considering how many holes and damaged creaks and cracks and potholes are around when you drive slow… with a high speed ride, yeah… bumpsteer on our lowered cars ftl at those speeds lol. My 240 can only hit 230 anyways so I wouldn’t know >_>

$0.50 to anyone who actually reads everything Ahmed wrote…

word of advice, the $0.50 wont be worth it

also, some of the language being tossed around on here lately is pretty disgusting.

when was it ever appropriate to tell fellow members to ‘suck ones dick’ or ‘fuck you motherfucker’ and things of that nature?

our moderation has always been light but mostly because this stuff rarely appeared on the forums… let’s not take 2 steps backward please.

see that’s how western media works just like bings  Before anyone gets a chance to read anything an on slaught barrage/smear campaign silences opposition  Aaah democracy and ‘free country’ lovely indeed

Mel Gibson voice: FREEEDOOOOOOOOOOM

Whatever

That being said, swearing/anger usually either means = a. frustration/helplessness, b. immaturity c. lack of vocab to express a. d. Sometimes a combination of all three. In case of son240 it’s mostly b.

:stuck_out_tongue:

dude… be 100% more concise.

even if you make a good point you need to present it in a format that is much less exhaustive.

the western media knows this.

Ahmed you sometimes have good points, but I do not want to read an essay on a forum.

OP not flaming you but…

IMO- Gas problem solved. http://www.plasmaboyracing.com/index.php

i did that. trust me…95% of people on here could not take it.

trades are not the way to go unless you have no life… you get bent over at work(make less than the old guys, due to inflated prices of living these days) and to pull in that “real coin” you have to spend all your free time doing sidejobs…
i say, go into something that is going to get big soon, GREEN COMPANIES… oils running out and more people want enviromentally friendly solutions for everything… go into that, get in on the ground level and when it takes off youll be filthy rich

Totally agree. I would only be able to survive if I set out to accomplish exactly that.
I would miss the hell out of paying for all of these luxuries though. I wouldn’t even complain about tuition.

Sorry OP, thread is a complete backfire. If it means anything, I have more faith in SON now. At least this forum isn’t completely full of unappreciative and ungrateful phggts

40-50 years ago there was no other way to get there but by car. Now we have transit as a cheaper alternative although the trip may take longer, the car is the “luxurious” alternative, like you said you can still get there by transit. You dont have to work so far. Move closer to work, get a job closer to home, car pool, get a helicopter licence, etc.

lol@ helicopter license

I’m young and in school, and i pay $2000 a year for insurance (167 a month). I’ve had a non payment as well.

There is something else you’ve done to warrant 5k a year in insurance. Whether it was tickets or whatever, doesnt matter. Deal with it, learn from it - we all pay for the same shit. Whoever said spend less time complaining and work harder is a right and also how i pay for all my shit.

own up to your actions and stop complaining

that is all

You have no clue.

a mark 23 to my brokers head usually gets me 40% off… so ya
