Gateway laptop wont boot??

Ok guys was using my laptop yesterday through out the day then at night went to use it hit the power button power light comes on fan kicks on but nothing else.

Its a NV series Gateway also prior to this when I would watch videos online some times the CPU usage would spike to 100% and would get choppy until I paused or stopped video. Now sure if that had something to do with it but yeaaaa.

Tried booting with out the batt with batt with batt and power supply no difference.

Not sure what else to try or just drop it off at place and have someone look it over.

Pull the battery and disconnect ac power. Hold the power button down for about 10 seconds then let go. Give it a minute or 2 then put battery/AC back and give it a shot.

+1 to TB

Try blowing out the fan with some compressed air. DO NOT use a vacuum on it at all, ever. Is it under warranty?

This was gonna be my 2nd suggestion, could potentially be overheating. Could be a clogged fan or the heatpipe fluid has shit the bed. I’ve done several Dells and HP’s that needed a heatpipe/sink replacement.

Try pulling 1 stick of RAM at a time (if you have more than 1 stick)

Tb ftw

Deff sounds like a overheating issue.

Needs more boost

MOAR PSI’s!

I have already tried what tradersBase suggested and I pulled and reinstalled the ram I was going to try one at a time but didnt I guess ill get deeper into it when i get home. As of right now cant get anything out of it so not sure if it would be a over heat issue since it wont start at all when cold.

Forget 1 at a time… U want a post. Pull ram and hdd… If u are still getting only fans… That sucks.

sounds like the video card in the laptop crapped out. Any posting beeps?

No beeps at all sorry havent had a chance to look at it got hung up at work then had to deal with some other shit. Ill pull it apart run it through the dishwasher and see if cleaning it helps…

Maybe the backlight went on it. Try booting up in the BIOS, hit F2 on boot up. See if anything comes up.

You could try hooking it up to an external monitor to see if it’s the screen.

From looking around online thats what its looking like

No beeps sounds like mobo shit the bed. Any hard drive activity flickering? If there is it could be the LCD inverter bit the dust and you just can’t see shit loading. That’s an easy test, shine a really bright light on the LCD and look for the unlit images.
