Geeks Unite... stolen ipad

So a friend of a friend had an ipad stolen… it happened in miami.

The girl used the stolen ipad to post instagram pictures online. We found the girls twitter account…

Is there an easy way to find an address or more contact info based on these facts.

I can post the instagram account, the girl looks 15 and stupid. I just dont want to ruin the chances of them finding said girl

Thanks for ideas.

(somebody mentioned icloud to track a device… how accurate is it?)

In for outcome.

I know the icloud “find my iphone” is accurate within a few feet if I’m outdoors, about 100-200 if I’m indoors and not on wifi. The phone has enhanced GPS capability though that uses GPS plus cell tower and wifi info for really accurate triangulation.

Example from icloud… I’m in the white building. Phone is about 8 feet from the nearest window and only connected to 3g network right now.

does the picture contain the geo coordinate of where it was taken? I am not familiar with instagram

Yea use the iCloud feature

This is said girl

Fucking LOL

I’d go to the police being that she could be a minor.

Shes got to be a minor…

Did your “friend” enable “find my ipad” in the icloud section of settings?

or her pedophile boyfriend stole it and gave it to her?

Instagram now also has this “photo map” feature where it tags your location everytime you upload a picture, its usually on without the user noticing it…

follow her on IG and im sure she’ll accept and follow the breadcrumbs from there?

grab the exif data and see if there is a GPS coordinate in it

edit: no location in the pic

Jays, you work unbelieveably close to me

Her online handle implies an upcoming date. I’m thinking her birthday… All her pics on instagram have her clinging to a white blackberry… I can only hope that she posts birthday festivities… That sure would be a fun party to crash… I hate thieves

Hit me on FB chat later I might have ideas

Will do. Ps I guess this happened at the airport in the Bahamas.

in for results!

I doubt she was the one who stole it, prob bought it off craigslist for super cheap or had it given to her by the scumbag who stole it

Either way, it is still possession of stolen property

That is dependent on the price. If it was at a normal price that one would go for, it would be difficult to prove that the person knew or should have known the property was stolen

*still possession … regardless of price.
