I doubt you’re going to hit 425RWHP through and Auto on a 5.3 w/ that small of a cam. 206/226 is pretty small in Gen. III standards. And that’s a huge split towards the exhaust side which would be good for a forced induction car or a really big N20 shot… but doesn’t make much sense for your application (mostly NA w/ a small shot).
that was at the crank. they upped it to a more radical and fast intake along with heads and 30#ders and got 453hp at crank. it was done in carcraft so a gain of 100 hp liek they did is nice for as little as the ygot done. i think 425 crank is very easy to get with some ported and milled heads, ls6 intake or fast, and fbucket accesory drive. that with a 100 shot or 125 shot should make the truck a pretty strong runner along with a nice stall and shift kit…my only problem i see is goingot be hooking up. i dont see to many companies out there for suspensions on the trucks
Ah, yes 425 crank HP shouldn’t be a problem… especially w/ head work. As for traction I’ll copy and paste from my car club’s board what the guy in our club w/ the STS turbo Z71 is thinking:
The guy is a nut, LoL. He’s making his extended cab Z71 into his “fast car” while he de-modded his TA and sold his 'vette. He just picked up a regular cab/short bed too that I guess he’s going to put the drivetrain he was building for the Z71 (6.0L, 4L80E and new/bigger STS) in the “little” truck and just feshen his 5.3 to return the Z71 to daily driver status. He already went low 12s in the mamoth Z71 but he wants 10s from the SCSB 2wd.
