So i went to the Sales Training on this thing a few days back and snapped some pics. Funny that the guy doing the training said that the Genesis Coupe is hoping to do what the 240sx did for Nissan in the past. They did not have all the pricing but he said that the base 2.0T would start between 24,000 and 25,000. There are 4 packages for the 2.0 turbo and 2 for the 3.8V6. Pics below including the packages overview sheet. Production starts this coming week which means we should see it here the first week of March. I will try to bring one out to the meets when it comes in. I know the pics suck but I must say, its comfortable to sit inside and i’m a big guy.
Yeah pics are not great, it was a cell phone camera
they are a factory option on the GT package for both the 4cyl and the v6. The packages are listed with that bottom pic but i will try to get a scan instead of a pic to post…
I may be at the booth, they ask for volunteers each year. Last year i did not go but went for pleasure. Got to climb on the rotating platform and sit in the Genesis because our district sales manager was there lol
no no, i meant the sedan last year… the red one i saw is the one they will be displaying at the cias next month… I was actually thinking of getting them to bring a coupe out once things get going in the spring… I already talked to one of the managers here about letting me bring one out to some of the meets
I think he meant do what the Silvia and 180SX did for Nissan because the 240SX didn’t do shit for Nissan when it was new. lol They barely sold any over here.
I’ll be getting my dad to bring one home as soon as he can. And I already convinced him to get one as his next demo. 2L turbo, sport package here I come.
Polish, if you end up working at the auto show you might be working with my dad, heh.
they were saying that they figure a younger crowd would go for the turbo because of the potential that it has for upgrading… i was blown away too that they said the turbo runs up to 17psi. I was almost wondering if that was a misprint because it seemed high for a stock system… the V6 they figure will be bought by someone that wont really modify too much if anything at all and a older than the buyer of the turbo
true, obviously cuz they don’t make them anymore and some are rusted away and totaled…but I see lots of 240s for sale, and on the road, you can see how diverse places in Ontario have 240 drivers. Not sure about other places in Canada, but I believe it’s in huge numbers all across North America with Hatches, and Coupes(S13s).
in 1998 and on, there was a huge slow down in sports\sporty cars because of the rise of the SUVs segment, reason why the Toyota Supra, Trans Am\Camaro, and 240’s to name a few had really poorer sales.
