Has anyone had their car appraised for the overall value? I wanted to get specialized insurance so I hooked up with an appraiser on line. I paid $30 and they called me back. I thought that an appraisel would be around $50 or something. They want $295. Is this how much appraisels go for or is someone trying to screw me :hitit:

Car appraisals are expensive if you go with a reputable company. Look at it this way, an appraisal is actually an insurance policy for your regular insurance policy. The appraiser certifies that your car is worth what you are insuring it for (maybe more) and the insurance company accepts his findings as gospel. When something happens to your car, there is no arguing about value you just get paid for the appraised amount or they pay to return the car to its’ previous documented condition. No suprises on your end and no getting screwed either. All in all it’s a very good deal provided your car is something special to start with.
