Dixmont Hospital for the Insane is slated for demolition. Evidently a shiny new Walmart is going to be built on the property. It’s disappointing but the building is so far beyond repair we cannot imagine restoration being possible or profitable

scariest place i have ever been is in a cemetary. Screams coming from under a bridge, little kids playing around you (you didnt see anything) cold spots, bushes spliiting in half… like something was walking through them, a little girl in a bell tower, ghostins in windows, shit felt like it was touching you, i heard my name a few times, something sut my friends pants ( we didnt walk through anythign for that to happen) also the sheath to his knife was unbuttoned… he made sure it was buttoned before we went into the cemetary… i have yet to be back to that place. fucked me up.

Just doing this quick research, I’m going to take some video today, get some pictures, interview Dr. Irma smith whos been here at the library for like 40 years, and throw together some kind of Chatham Haunting DVD. w00t!

Pittsburgh - Chatham College - In the basement of the Mellon building is a pool and bowling alley. It is known mostly to lifeguards that work at the pool. Andrew Mellon haunts the bowling alley, it is usually very cold in the room. One gets a very creepy feeling. If you don’t want to experience anything don’t bowl! At times the pins will resent themselves as if taunting you to keep playing.

Woodland Hall
Chatham College, Women’s college in Pittsburgh- The Blue Lady of Woodland Hall. No one knows where or why the blue lady haunts woodland hall, but many students have reported waking up in the middle of the night to find the apparition of a woman in a blue dress floating above them. One student reported waking up to the sounds of children playing in her dorm room! Although she never saw the ghostly children, she clearly heard them and felt their presence as they jumped on her bed and pulled on her ankle trying to get her to play a game with them!

I don’t know if I ever mentioned, but I saw a ghost on video at my job. The COO called me in to the security room to view the video and it freaked me out. I can honestly say I have never seen shit like that before in my life.
There was this image floating around our backroom. You saw footprints walking down the hallway, a face on the camera every once in awhile. This all happened from 1am-5am. The motion detector alarms kept going off from this time and it was just this thing bouncing around. I’m a believer now!

Connecticut is wonderful for ghost stories! I have family and friends who live there. The best stories that I’ve heard are from Lake Compounce… and stories of the White Lady in some cemetary. Dunno where it is though. 
I’ll believe a ghost when I see it. Until then I’d rather try not to scare myself. I’m afraid of my own shadow for goodness sake!
