Gillece Transmission

Im about to take my Prelude there in about 20 mins anyone have any revies on them or anything I have a gay ass sport shift tranny that crapped itself so gotta get it done …thanks fellas any help or anything I appreciate

Did you check all solenoids and/or the cable that actuate the shifter mechanism?

yea all the solenoids are fine …it was slipping some from first to second when I got it

Check the cable going to the tranny. It looks like it has a barrel adjuster inside of another adjuster with an alignment window. It only takes a minute or two to check that it is aligning while in park and neutral. Might as well cross off another possibility before you hand it off to someone else.

A friend took a saturn there (5 speed) i think it ended up costing around 2500 or so. then went boom shortly there after.

goodluck!

Yeah I haven’t heard much good from those places… But they must be doing something right to be in business this long.

took my explorer their, wasn’t cheap 2k+ and been decent ever since

Gillece > Cottman

i took my old car there and they seemed to do a pretty good job. it was on an oldsmobile and the transmission never had an issue for the 40k+ miles driven on it til i told it. it was pricey though.

I"ve heard good things of Budget Transmission on Route 88 in Castle Shannon, as far as Gillece I’ve heard mixed opinions

Did they tell you what was wrong with it yet? I saw it sitting in one of their bays on my way to work this morning.

they rebuilt my hybrid converter.

they are a good shop. you may pay more, but they stand behind their work. i wouldnt hesitate to take stuff there.

armys transmission in homestead ftw

OK well guess I should get around to posting what was wrong with it
Tourque converter hub was cracked and missing a piece as big as a thumbnail
Spung a bearing inside the case
Clutches were smoked
and apparently it takes some extra special fluid that the tard that had it before me didnt use

I’ve heard really good things about AAMCO on 51…Gilece looks reputable but i never heard anything about them…What type of warranty do the give you?
