I try my best to purchase American made things whenever possible. I will never buy an import car for this reason alone. I don’t give a shit if your new Toyota was built by Americans in North Dakota or wherever. A huge portion of the money you spent on it went over to that little island in the Pacific.

The import guys always bash the shit out of American cars. It’s always about the dumbest shit though…OMG plastic in the interior OMG WTF!!! OMG, that car is so hideous!!! (coming from a guy who drives a Civic). Maybe they aren’t the best of the best, who knows. Do you really need a car that is perfect? A car that requires zero maintanance? American cars built today are light years better than the ones built in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. I’m pretty sure I could hop in a $30,000 VW and laugh my ass off at it’s severe lack of power, and then after 30,000 miles when I go to replace the brake pads/rotors, find out that I have to order them through the dealer ($$$$) instead of just heading to AutoZone. There are perks to owning an American car that people always overlook.

As for $70,000 'Vette’s, I have seen several Z06’s cruising around, and there is a shitton of people, in this area alone, who can afford them.

Funny, I bought my VW to get me from point A to point B and be comfortable, and safe doing so.
Also, When I did my brakes at 27k I went to my work ADVANCE AUTO, and I purchased brake pads and rotors. ZOMG they were American made too!
I buy American products as well. They may not be American cars, but they are still products manufactured here.

Oh and btw, my winter car is a GM product.

Heres how GM will reduce workforce wages: Delphi did this 2 years ago.

To make a long story short. They will file Chapter 11. GM won’t have to obey any current contracts. UAW members will be offer 140k (taxed of course) to sever all ties with GM. Or they can stay for 14.50-18.50 (depending on job) and recieve a 35k bonus, once a year for 3 years. After which they will only make the lower wage with no bonuses. All bought out workers will be replaced with new workers making the low wage. Also, our benefits at Delphi used to be premium. Now they are barely anything. Delphi has saved a ton by doing this. GM will follow suit. I give it 5 years.

Yes the UAW will probably strike. But after reality hits, it will be business as usual.

BTW, Delphi did not strike when our new contract was implemented.

I don’t HATE GM. They have the biggest line of vehicles in the country. They DO make some quality vehicles, while others are shit.

If they dropped some of their line, and really focused on the best sellers they would produce some phenomenal vehicles.
