To keep this on track, I read an article recently about the reasons for domestic car manufacturing failing, and they mentioned that a lot of it had to do with GM having two-three times the number of brands that their competition had, while having the same market share. They also use more union labor, and have to pay full salaries to workers displaced by automation. A lot of stuff like that, basically they’re hemorrhaging money and are in dire need of restructuring. Don’t know about the actual cars, never owned a domestic.

Rebuilding the Tahoe division when it gets 8MPG when GAS is near $5 a gallon isn’t smart business.

this is very true, a lot of the hit has to do with the workers being overpayed, i have a close friend that works for GM and personally i think he is paid way to much for what he does, the sad part of it is that he does not skilled at what he does but because they are union, he gets his money, but whatever. The union has made people pay way to much for work in other companies also that arent failing, but it is a part of the failing of the big three, which all have union workers
