God shining down on ma new(2004) rig

lol most people freek out.
its 6 bolts and a few harnesses. Should be good to go now!

I was shocked how small the Xterra looked when parked next to it.lol

Something like that.

The truck is at Brothers Diesel, I was shocked to see the picture of it when I was checking out their facebook page. Haven’t heard from them yet but hopefully tomorrow.

People think owning German cars is expensive? I have spent more on this in one month than I have on the RS6 in a year. lol:puke:

There’s worse dilemmas to have, lol. That thing’s an animal.

You aren’t the only one that picked up a brostroke this month.

nice truck, but the reason you got the best deal on the ford is because its the junker 6.0l…as youre finding out by already having a bunch of work done on it lol.

my cousin has a 7.3 powerstroke with the 6 speed manual that i use for plowing…love it.

6.0 is waaaaaay better once you do a little maintenance. You can keep your 7.3.
The main problems were the shitty fuel here in the US, after market oil filters, and the studs… Problem solved.

Variable vane turbo FTW.

Side note: he had 3 Chevy duramax engines there with broken crankshafts.

nice haha

someday when i have a need for a diesel tow rig i want to go out west and find a clean 12v cummins with a manual trans. although it is pretty crazy the power the new ones have

No doubt Cummins rule, I have to admit I just don’t like Dodge. Some people have built “Fummins”(Ford, Cummins) trucks which would be the sweetest build.

I love the 7.3, the 6.0 is good once you get it straightened out.
The 6.4 is the abortion.
The 6.7L is a MONSTER.

I saw either a 6.0 or 6.4 driving down the road today just pouring white smoke cruising at 50.

How is plowing with a diesel? Does it even get up to operating temperature before you’re finished? My friend has two 7.3’s but he just but a gas truck for quick trips and around town stuff for when his diesel wouldn’t even be warmed up before he was finished.

The 6.0 was developed in Europe which is probably why it is more complex and probably why I appreciate it. Lol
Once they realized the US fuel/oil was too dirty it was too late, the marketing damage was done even though they had come up with solutions to the challenges.
The 7.3 was much more simple making it very reliable but they needed to meet emissions standards.
There is a completely comprehensive 6 part video that explains the 7.3 and 6.0. It covers the sweet engineering of the 6.0… And it’s flaws too.

This guy seems to know his stuff…

Lookin sharp Mike. Those Youtube videos are a pretty good source.

I just picked up a 7.3 myself.

Nice Matt! Should be a solid ride.

heres mine…

i have a sno dogg 8.5 v plow as well

Nice pipes!

Did you guys get your truck locally? When I was looking I couldn’t find anything around here worth buying.

i waited a long time for what i wanted. I was a salesman so i had all my sales buddies on the lookout.
2006 dark shadow grey, fx4, xlt, with bucket fronts and carbon fiber interior trim (factory)
52,500k when i bought it
1 owner, all records recorded from the dealer i bought it from
i religiously change the fuel filters and the oil, and use fuel treatment on most fill ups.
Stacks are a home made kit.
i have put almost 20k on it and had zero issues. I put a half bowl (ficm) in it, and new turbo housing right after i bought it under warranty.
I plan on egr delete and studs, but i def am not paying for the labor, lol, your nuts.
mine also has the backup sensors, upfitter switches, a CB, the plow and was retuned by a diesel mechanic at delacy for 29 psi and updated 2007 maps.
My new tune sweeps the veins way more often and the added boost is nice.
I got almost 20mpg on the way to nashville last summer, and 14 coming back with a 6k trailer in tow.
Im taking it to albany tomorrow for a corrections interview. I wouldn’t drive anything else.
If it shits the bed, ill have Kuntryquesttsi fix it lol

Yeah mine is pretty loaded too, King Ranch, sunroof, two batteries, captions chairs with amazing leather. I don’t think the back up sensors are working though.
I put the 4" lift, 35" tires and plow on it as soon as I Bought it.

I am also getting the programmer with all of the readouts/sensor displays. It should launch like a jack rabbit.

i wanna check it out with the programmer, also, my backup sensors sometimes turn off WHEN I PUT MY SHIT IN REVERSE…hahahahahahah

mine really needs a level kit to hold up the plow, kinda saggy like mr flinstone with it on.

What programmer? SCT did you get the edge insight for monitoring? you wanna watch the ECT and EOT because even with studs, your still vulnerable to the gaskets shitting the bed so long as the egr and the egr cooler are still functioning

Plowing… I had the timbren suspension enhancement installed as well. As far as warming up, my driveway is quite large so…

I keep mine plugged in under 50 degrees. Takes 30 minutes unpugged or 10 plugged in.
