God shining down on ma new(2004) rig

30 minutes is quite long, I had not really thought about that I guess.

yea, the main problem for you is that the truck does warm up faster if you start driving and judt be super easy on it, but i doubt your gonna wanna take a drive then come home and plow your driveway. LOL, You will have a monitor to watch the temps that is more accurate than mine, but just idling, mine never seems to warm up, keeping it plugged in is def the solution. If your truck doesnt have the cord wrapped up in the fender, you can run to ford and buy one for like 150, or go to international on walden and get one for like 20 bucks…

Yeah I do have a heater but I haven’t used it yet since I just bought the truck a month ago.
My coolant gage almost instantly goes up which I thought was strange since the truck was not warm yet. I will look at the display on the new unit to be sure everything is sending the correct message.

at i dle, the gauge should never go above the C…i assure you it will rest on top of the c untill you start driving. i once idled it for 2 hours on a cold start and the gauge never went up.

I had a dodge ram with a cummins turbo diesel, when the truck was fully warmed up, you could park the truck in cold weather (think ~10*) and let it idle, and the temp will go down to ~140* after 20 or so minutes

Mine is definately out calibration then. It goes up to about 3/4 like now. It will be interesting to see how it reads on the programmer display. Maybe the sending unit is bad.

I just picked her up from Gambino and the difference is night and day. I don’t how people with fast RWD vehicles can stand it, the tires just smoke. 2WD is useless in power or extreme mode. I guess I will be running in 4WD in any wet or snowy conditions.

so, what’s done to it?

Bully Dog tuner, EGR delete, upgraded headgasket and APR head studs to hold it all together.
The variable vane turbo(which is stock) makes this truck take off pretty quick with the Bully Dog.

You guys all suck… I have been looking for a clean crew cab for months… 7.3 or studded / deleted 6.0. People still want 20k for a clean 7.3.

Don’t bother looking around here, I could not find anything that wasn’t rotted or beat. The Pittsburgh area seems to have ten times as many diesels for sale.
One used dealer had like 15 trucks.

My truck spent most of its life in West Virginia so it is pretty clean. Not perfect but…

The Bullydog won’t go into performance mode until the engine warms up, I thought that was pretty sweet.

Edit: After looking at the numbers my RS6 and Ferd have very close torque numbers.

what kinda numbers did the truck make with the programmer

It should be about 440hp 735tq. Similar to my Audi strangely enough. But over 2000lbs heavier.

Edit: way more power than a Raptor.

holy shit! lots of torques!

loving the truck.

Very nice  Do you have a recent dyno from the RS-6? (I must have missed it).

No new numbers, the new numbers may be higher once I get some wiring issues sorted out.

Plug it in over night and turn the key to on and see what it reads.

which bully dog set up did you go with?

Sensor Docking Station w/ Pyrometer (40384)

Triple Dog GT Diesel Gauge/Tuner (40420)

My bro has a '06 f-250 with the 6.0. He went through the EGR (twice), head studs and injector issue’s. Egr was actually a blessing. Few days after the work was done the truck took a shit, white smoke, no power. Took it back to the dealer and they found what appeared to be small bolts/screws in 2 cylinders. Dealer took the blame and rebuilt the bottom end, new turbo, and new head. His is all stock but he regularly tows loads of over 8k for work and has a 5th wheel camper.
