Going to Washington/Oregon

I have always wanted to move out to the west coast and since my dad passed away I am thinking its a good time for change in life.
I have never been out there before and its time to go check it out

I am thinking I am going to land in Seattle, spend a day or two up there and head to-

and from there drive down to-

this area seems to interest me, in particular Richland, I would consider relocating here

and from there I will drive a about 4 hours down to Portland Oregon and fly home out of there

I wanted to hit Cali but its just too far

This is more of a soul search than a vacation but I would like to do some fun things while I am there

I just more or less want to check the region out and really dont know what there is to do from an entertainment aspect

Anyone ever been out this way who can point me towards some good things to check out?

I plan on flying out next Weds and spend a week out there…

sorry to hear about your dad, and good luck with the trip

Shoot cougarspeed a PM. He is in Seattle.

I have a couple friends out there… if you like rain, its the place to be apparently!

ya know what kills me is according to weather.com we get more rain here in North Collins than Seattle gets

The place I am looking at Richland gets about 8 inches a year

its really just the winter, I cant fucking stand it anymore

best place i have ever visited, where i would want to live at least, is Tuscon Arizona. Everything is new and nice, cheap VERY nice houses, gas is cheaper, taxes are cheaper, weather is amazing etc etc… but yeah after school, i might look into getting out of here as well

Good for you. You can learn a lot about yourself by traveling, living different places, etc. If there’s nothing major holding you back right now then go for it while you can!

I spent a week in Tacoma once. It sucked, really ghetto. It was like a big Lackawanna.

I just did the same thing. Flew in to Seattle, went down the coast to Portland, then back up to Seattle.

Any specific questions?

www.tripadvisor.com is extremely helpful

no real specific questions, I just have no idea what to expect at all, I imagine its almost as different as going to a foreign country

what did you do for fun along the way?

Any places you would recommend?

I might go to Stockton California to check out were my father is from its really nice out there i hear. Stockton is like 50 miles away from Sacramento. Stockton is about the same size as Tonawanda. The only thing bad is that Stockton has the highest rate of foreclosures in America. So houses should be dirt cheap there. A house in Stockton that is a 5 bdrm 3 car garage is only $199k this house was built in 2002 here is the address and website
1727 Bartlett Crt, Stockton

i have heard a lot people quote that but i lived out there for over 2 years and it rains and drizzles a lot. when it is nice in the summer it is really nice and green. i kept hearing people talk about this huge mountain(Ranier) but it took over a month to finally see it because of the rain.

You can’t go out all that way and not hit California. Not for the site seeing alone; but driving the coast line is wicked fun. Amazing views at like 80+ MPH.

problem is that Cali is like 12 hours just to hit the border

if I went to Cali I would want to check out LA and all that fun stuff

I am thinking I am going to arrive in Seattle and depart from Seattle

To depart from Portland would cost me like $400 more between the rental car and the airfare

Seattle is only like a 2.5 hour drive from Portland sooooooooo yeah

Just land in Seattle and give me a buzz and we can drink our faces off.

I dont know how long I am actually going to stay in Seattle but I"ll tip back some beers with ya

Just shoot me a pm if/when you know the dates.
