Goodyear...an alignment...and 4 loose lugnuts

No tell the district manager that the retard is not doing his job properly, wait for him to be fired, have the car aligned by someone who may be slightly more competent. It does not matter if you make $8 or $50 an hour, if you are hired to do a job you should be able to do your job. I have warehouse staff that makes about $11 and hour and they are expected to perform perfectly day in and out. When my customers call and tell me that there was a fuck up, and you bet their ass that they call me and my boss, the guys in the warehouse are held accountable for their actions.

Are you kidding me? You’re probably the most over-the-top lunatic on this forum. You telling someone not to freak out is like Karter’s mom telling someone how to raise a child.

Mike is NOT over reacting in the slightest. He is using the proper channels to make sure that his shit gets covered, and that the appropriate people are informed of something that could be A LOT worse. It’s not like he called channel 4, hired a lawyer and is picketing the place. Chill the fuck out.

Just because something terrible didn’t happen this time, doesn’t mean it won’t happen later. How many other cars have left that facility unsafe?

-Sorry Karter. Friendly jab. <3

Similar story: a guy I work with had his newer Exploder worked on at goodyear in the falls. He drove home, and on his way back in to work the next day, he noticed his car was wobbly and making weird noises he’s not a car guy, so he didn’t know what was going on, so he kept going. Eventuay it got so bad he pulled off the expressway, pulled into a parking lot, and as soon as he did, the wheel fell off. They had never tightened the lug nuts. He got real lucky it didn’t happen on the expressway.

He returned to Goodyear and they repaired everything and gave him a bunch of free crap. If it was me I’d still have been furious.

I hate hate hate people working on my car ever since I got an oil change and they left the oil cap off. I got satisfaction in the end but it took a while.

I’m not going to get into the details…because honestly this was a big hassle and a pain in my ass to take care of today. A lengthy phone conversation lead to an hour+ personal visit to meet with the store manager, during my work day which I really didn’t have time for.

Short story, I left with my car aligned…and am still irritated with how they handled the situation of loose lugnuts as “these things that just happen…”. His word against mine…as he pulled out all his training lingo on me, I stood my ground with my claim that his shop was irresponsible. I’m really not going to dive much deeper than this right now as it’s just not necessary.

Next steps are in motion…contact district manager and better biz bureau.

you got to be kidding! i bet you any money that if your ever when into a restaurant, ordered something, and they made it completely wrong you would complain to the same person who is more likely making minimum wage about how it was messed up… this is the same context… he ordered a wheel alignment and they fucked it up… so now he will complain… easy as that

Seems fairly common for the lugs to be overlooked. That seems horribly dangerous and if you can’t remember something that basic yet important you should get a job where you can create less potential havoc.
Cole muffler on Walden/Union…yup hand tightened lugs on all 4 fucking wheels after an inspection. I didn’t bother going back because I knew I’d get the “your word against ours” shit. I was pissed but glad nothing bad happened.

My aunt once had all four of her wheels come off her car while driving home from the shop.

So you took your car to a chain store, and wasn’t satisfied with the work? This surprises you in what way? Chain store alignment = Toe and go AT BEST… An alignment machine only as good as the person operating it. Loose lugs don’t startle me a bit. I’ve read the Firestone management course principals, it’s used regularly along with Goodyear’s as examples of what NOT to do to stay in business. They expect 75% of customers to NEVER walk through their doors twice, so rape, theft and everything immoral is the norm and to be expected. Since they’ll NEVER be back, get it while the getting is good. Calling management is going to do two things: jack and shit. Yeah they might yell at someone, but then what? As long as the store generates $$, they won’t care.

could of been your tire hitting a innocent

As part of my 24/7 butler service, I also handle these types of situations with these two sledgehammers that some people call my fists. Problem resolved

^I’d hire him

Where would you recommend?
Seeing how every bit of my suspension is on my garage floor I might need an alignment when/if I put it back together.

Licata’s on Walden across the street from Swerve, Russ in there runs a tight ship and comes highly reccomended. Watching his one main alignment guy work on some hella flush slammed drift car with bump steer adapters for an hour to get the caster correct and redoing the swing to make sure it was perfect put a warm feeling in my heart.

comme on zac they got kids that gotta eat LOL

IT FALLS THE FUCK OFF!

lol srsly? Don’t you sell cars? You should realize how stupid and sketchy this whole situation is…

This is also the reason why I never EVER go to chain shops for any kind of service. Either do it yourself or take it to a shop where you know the people well.

I would 2nd licata’s Ive NEVER had them tell me i need to replace somthing. they do the work i ask and give me back the car. I take all the cars i work on there. and he does appointments via email thats soo nice

then they should take their training, and aspire to do better and move into an indepent shop or dealership with their skills and grow past a chain store’s stigma. How’s by you? You’re buddies in holland are offering stickers again I saw…

Yes, I do. But, I am also a firm believer in 99.999% of the population is fucking RETARDED so only go to shops I know and trust. I avoid chain stores like the hiv.
