Well, pulled the trigger on a place just north of Detroit in a town called Clarkston. Almost 5 acres, 40x44 barn in the back with a lift, compressor, sand blaster, gas heater and wood burner.
Oh there is a house too, about a 2500 sq ft ranch 4 bed, 4 bath, a library /office with a finished basement and wet bar. Property has a pond and is almost a lake view. House sits on top of a nice hill overlooking the area.
Should close on the 25th, so if anyone wants a place to stay for Woodward dream cruise or the Detroit auto show let me know.
Well a lift will make fixing my brakes when driving threw town way nicer
me and the wife are planing a few road trips I’ll drop a pm if we are shooting threw town.
did you have any issue with pistol permits going from tx to Michigan?
LoL I’ll probably try to buy a rental house in those areas. That way it won’t look odd when I collect my money on a hopped up mini bike.
So Mich gun laws are really odd. If you have an out of state permit, they honor it and you don’t need to get a local one. So since I have a concealed permit from another state that is good for a lifetime, I technically don’t have to do anything but bring my hardware in. I called the local po po to ensure this was the case and they gave it the ok.
If you’re driving through feel free to stop for the brake swap, clutch job or causal beer.
I just moved from Houston to Detroit. I got a new job at General Motors aka dream job.
Property has 2 water wells, one for the house and one for the sprinkler system. I’ll never have a water bill which is nice. The pond needs a little work, i’ll probably trailer my dads tractor over for a few weeks so I can install a nice wooden bulkhead to make it look really nice.
Has a septic system so no sewer or HOA fees. My only bills will be gas and electric, but the wood burning heaters should all but eliminate a huge gas bill for me.
My drive to work is about 20-25 min, I’m about 25 min away from Royal Oak /Ferndale which seem to be where people like to go out /be hip. downtown is a solid 45 min away and the airport is about an hour, but I’m ok with that.
Very nice. Congrats. I have a friend who a couple years ago moved from buffalo to MI to open a restaurant. It’s about 2 1/2 hours from you, but worth the visit at least once. http://www.thearborealinn.com
